hmm, maybe I'll introduce 2 high-scores, 1 with research, 1 without. We'll see what other people think first, but it would need people to be honest. Also, some people didn't specify if they researched or not, so it makes it harder to do 2 sets of high-scores.

1) Source 2) Sudan 3) 5-6.. go for 6 ( tnx to ^ :D) 4) The Amazon River 5) i know the Nile and The Amazon River are the longest rivers on the world(depends on how you look it with or w/o splits). So it has to be yangtze or mississipi, and looking @ above i go for yangtze 6) - 7) mississippi river 8) flood equipment, no idea haha 9) i guess a floud ( the signs hang pretty low for a river/canal) 10 bomb attack from the british ( i have been there on holiday :D )
bonus: depends how you fall and how deep it is. if it is the same depth like 1 meter and the river is strong you would be more wet in the river. if it is a small undeep river that there shouldnt be much difference

Without research:
1) Spring 2) Sudan 3) 3 4) Euphrates 5) Yangtze? 6) Thames? 7) Mississippi 8) Don't know 9) Flood 10) One of those bouncing German bombs which bounce over the water a few times before hitting the side of the dam, I don't know the name of them. Bonus) A lake, since they are usually deeper I think.
With research: 1) Source 2) Sudan 3) 3 4) Amazon 5) Yangtze 6) Tamar 7) Mississippi 8) Don't know, the internet only knows of "Finite Element Quadratic Programming", no river-related definitions were found. 9) Canal 10) It was a bouncing bomb, but a British one.
