Another company will buy them and sell them under the name Twinkies just with a different logo above it. Obviously iconic things rarely die, they just get bought up and re-sold under different people.

Alot of companies are doing good in the snack business that would obviously love to sell ding-dongs and twinkies under their name.

They don't sell twinkies here though, so I don't really care.

Perhaps it was the fact they hired crappy CEOs, around 7 in a short time-span.

Perhaps it was the fact their factory workers were unionized, and demanded a pay raise and their factories were shut down.

Perhaps it was the fact the mounting business regulation in America forced them to scale down everything.

It's funny now that there are more foreign companies more than happy to buy the rights to the products Hostess sells, but most American companies are staying away. An American icon, turned foreign due to our own stupidity and misunderstanding of money and business.

The most ironic part of this: The unionized workers who asked for a pay raise are now out of work.

^ Mostly, the only problem that I have with this is that it ignores the fact that the largest union was alright with the contract from Hostess. One of the other unions rejected the contract. Hostess went to the bankruptcy court to force the contract on them and the union went on strike as a result.

(Said court seems to be trying to keep Hostess alive if I heard the news correctly.)

Don't care (outside workers losing jobs). Haven't really ate that crap since college anyway. Plus little debbie makes enough of that crap to cover the market anyway.

Also swiss rolls are little debbie. You basically lose ding dongs, the cupcakes, zingers, and some bread brands (wonder/home pride/nature's pride).
