Lionel Messi told Blatter he could give Ronaldo the Balon d'Or if he gave Messi the Golden Ball. As if he deserved that award; even the player rating statistics didn't place him in the top five - Arjen Robben or one of many of the Germans deserved it.

To be honest, the only impressive team Germany beat was France in the quarter-final and that was with a set play.

It was very exciting. In the NEDARG game Netherlands and Argentina were pretty equal in skill, so I know now we could have won this as well ;-) Well, maybe not because Argentina used the brick wall defence (especially in the first half) which Van Gaal would never do to his team.
But congratulations Germany, and see you in France in two years!

Deserved win but I wanted Argentina to win. Robben should of got a trophy.

Wohoo, if the Germans played the Dutch, who only went out on penalties, which are basically luck, they would have had a bigger test to deal with. I felt the Dutch would have attack the Germans more than Argentina did. The German defence looked venerable in the final, but Argentina wasted chances. Let's look at who they played.

group stage;
-Portugal (vs 10 players)
-Ghana (draw)
-USA (nothing special about them)
Last 16;
-Algeria (I doubt they'd have got past the group stage in some of the other groups)
quarter-final
-France (1-0 with a set-play)
semi-final;
-Brazil (their defence kept giving Germany the ball in-front of their own goal)
final;
-Argentina (Argentina wasted relatively easy chances that a better team would have punished Germany for giving them that chance)

if the word if wouldnt excist ...
