I'm not able to break through Black Famine and White Conquest before Death brings the boom.

Anyone have any advice?

From what i remember: Getting to the central 20-bonus with a somewhat healthy income is key.

Death will capture the central bonus on Turn 9. Clear the 15-stack on Krougor on Turn 8, then take Riuthor with enough armies+income to complete the bonus.

On Turn 4, I took Prouzo, then "followed" White Conquest into Ayoukaz and Cequr.
