as i said, i wrote that part of the guide before i saw what you said (just copied it there)
I see people posting topics about improving a lot, also i never saw any guide until now, so maybe i'm just not informed but i doubt i'm the only one.
I'd like to make this as accessible as possible, (for example as a forum post that could be kept on page 1)

THREAD SUMMARY
WARFLOW: I'm gonna make a Warlight guide. I mean, I might make a guide. Please help me to make a guide.
SZENWEN: You should make it like mine. I'd expand on my own, but I don't have time. You should totally make one, but make sure it's exactly like mine.
WARFLOW: I made a little guide.
HELLBENDER: Hey Guys. Guys. Guys. Guys. Hey guys. Guys. Hey guys.
Everyone: Stop being annoying, Hellbender.
SZENWEN: That's not nearly enough like mine. Have you read mine? Here's a link to mine. You should definitely read through all of mine. Why'd you even make yours if it wasn't going to be like mine?
HELLBENDER: My name's not HellBender! Seriously guys. Guys. Guys. Guys. Guys. Hey guys.
ALEX: What?
HELLBENDER: Nothing.
ALEX: That's great.
HELLBENDER: I know. Wanna play?

good summary. :)
Another section of the guide would be "discussion" or "FAQ", for example which territory to attack/defend if you have a double border?
it's for stuff that's debateable, so a lot of examples, hopefully for both sides

The summary was funny, you should make that more often on useless threads

russel is the funniest man alive.
you are also the funniest man alive
PARADOX
but you're funny because you're such an idiot
oh well, too bad
also, this thread is useless, i'm already a pro, i've never lost a 1V1, so what's the point?

jokes aside, yuri is a complete retard
i have 0 games played, that probably explains the 0% loss rate
he also didn't figure out that i was being sarcastic, because he is in fact an idiot.
i'm a very mean and cruel male platypus, and i hate anti-platypus walruses.

@szew, of the (few) people i have talked to who were looking for help no one had found your guide, 1 had found the guide on the blog, and 4 had found mine.
i'm trying to make this manageable and understandable for beginners, it's not meant to be in depth as yours, they're for different purposes.
this is purely for strat. 1V1 btw
Deployment:
General:
-always 6 picks
-go for early bonuses, 1 turn if possible, if not 2 turns, i have never heard of 3 turn bonuses being a valid choice. potential first turn bonuses are: central america, scandinavian peninsula, india, antarctica. When taking a first turn bonus make sure you choose correctly where to put your first and second pick, the bonus you're trying to take shouldn't necessarily be first.
-think long term: you need spreading options for mid-late game
-think short term, if all your bonuses are threatened from the early turns it'll be very difficult to win
-you need to take safe bonuses for yourself and to make your opponent's bonuses not safe through sabotage picks
-do not plan to invest too much into the sabotage of a bonus your opponent might not try to take
First pick:
-Usually a very safe bonus, or a key position to control a zone
-Never sabotage with your first pick
-can sometimes be used to combo with another pick to control a zone entirely, especially if you take central and west russia and scandinavian peninsula is wastelanded
Second pick:
-If there is a first turn bonus the second pick is usually used along with the first to take it
Third pick:
-remember that it is possible to get your top 3 picks, so make sure that that would be a good outcome for you.
-Clustering 3 picks is extremely rarely a good idea, it is usually a strategy used to surprise your opponent. reference: dead piggy's thread ("the old triple pick")
4th pick-6th pick:
-these are used very often for sabotage of your first 3 picks, since you did not get all of them.
-if you get your 6th pick it means you did not get your 4th and 5th, so make sure you take that into account while deploying, usually sabotaging 4th and 5th with 6th
Definition:
a zone (for me) is an area on the map, for example caucasus/west russia/central russia/scandinavian peninsula is one zone, another is africa/south america/antarctica/central america, and another could be india/indonesia/australia/east china. all of these can vary depending on the wasteland distribution, for example if there is a wasteland in west-west africa the rest of africa and south america will be in different zones.
It is usually important to have a foothold in each zone, or at least to have access to them. the zones in warlight games can vary anywhere from 1 to 4, sometimes even more.
The best zones are usually east china/india, russia, and africa/south america, + all the +3 bonuses.
the worst bonuses are in north america, east russia, and north/south africa because they are inefficient, also middle east is almost only used for sabotage.
europe and west china are useable but very rarely, usually in long term games where you have leftover armies and control the rest of the zone already so they're safe

*beg* please comment on this! what needs improvement? =P
i'm looking for inaccuracies, stuff that should be added, or even things that need rewording
also if you have examples of any of the more complicated concepts, especially if someone has a link to a game with 4 potential first turn bonuses to show what it means, please share them :)
