I noticed that 4 of the top 7 1v1 ladder players are in the WM clan, including the top spot. Yesterday, for a brief moment, they held spots 1 AND 2. Mighty impressive. I don't think we've ever seen so many members of the same clan in the top 10 before, certainly not the top 7 as these four are.
There was a time when I considered any match up against a player with a clan tag an automatic win. Now, when I see a WM tag, I can almost consider it an automatic loss. Clans like WM and Apex are leading the way for clans in general and I like the direction they're headed. Clans were once the butt of every joke made in the forums and now they're holding the highest rankings in Warlight. Congrats and keep it up.
If anyone wants to share their stories of their prejudices against clans blowing up in their face, this would be a good thread for that. Or, if you want to parody how Gui would explain why Szewen and other WM players are actually horrible at this game and their rankings are undeserved, that's welcome too.

I noticed that today one of the top 1 ladder positions are held by the WM clan. That is total WM clan dominance. WM holds 100% of the top 1 ladder positions over 100% of the time on a timescale of 3 days.
There was a time when I considered Mikelsen posts an automatic win. Now, when I see a Mikelsen post, I can almost consider it an automatic laugh.

But laughs aside, I noticed that as well, and it makes me happy. I prefer seeing various top clans duke it out for top positions rather then a bunch of random good players. I like how it looks and I like that it is making clans a bigger part of the game.

Spot on, SevenDeadlySins! You set the bar for Gui parodying. That is word-for-word, letter-for-letter, exactly what Gui would say if he were to post in this thread. Well done.

I'll try to peace together what your first line said.
If you meant "Aren't thou also a random player?":
Yes, I'm also not a top tier player, and I've not found a clan that fits me or has accepted me... yet.
If you meant "aren't they also random players?:
Yes, but when I find a new online game and take a look at leaderboards and Forums, I generally don't remember peoples names, I remember the clan tags that were dominating, if there were clans.
It makes a game look more competitive in my mind, when I see clan tags. This is coming from a background mostly in Online FPS's, but I think it can apply to most genres.

It`s pretty simple if you ask me, any player is a random player. (makes sense right) However when (s)he joins a clan, for instance [WM] (s)he becomes a [WM] player. So therefore is clan players not random players, while other players are.

[WM] is chock full of great team game players not just 1v1 specialists like Surehand, Artham, Piggy and Szeweningen. And there are a few more [WM] players who would definitely be in the top 10 if they were to join the ladder, Trollussa for sure.

apex also had quite a dominant stance on ladder for quite awhile. Dunga, Frank, and Luxis all have top 10 ranks under their belt. Also, if grona and brisk had a membership, surely they would also jump into the top 10. They both boast a clan of elite players. Tags in my view are an accolade. It's a way of saying: I'm at this level, these are the people I hang with.
I joined {rp} because I am an {rp} member. I dabble in creative writing and like odd, original games that are outside the scope of the normal competitive Warlight.
I joined [WG] because I am at that certain skill level of competitive play. I'm not quite elite (apex/[WM]) but I'm hanging on their coattails and can give them a hard time. (Unless you're Timinator. Although I can give Timinator a close game sometimes).
(Translation in rank: 20-30). (In 2v2, you'll see Andersault and I take top 7 when we pull wins in the games we're currently in. We could take top 5, but it's doubtful we'll be able to stick in there with all the good teams joining. See: Gui and Dead Piggy, a team that will take all the women in your village and pillage them in both senses of the word.)
I like clans. It gives me a way to find a partner in team games really easy. I know that everyone in [WG] can hang with me and won't do bad. I also like playing with apex and [WM] whenever I can since I learn a lot. I get that privilege because I've played with them a lot in clan events and they like playing with me from time to time because of that. (Also I host a ton of live tourneys. Boredom of course.)
However, there are a lot of clans out there that.. don't host a certain level of skill or even improve. I get it, you want to be in a group of players around your skill level. However, how do you jump out of that level once you've determined yourself there? I guess I have a different mentality. I want to improve. I want to kick some ass. I don't want to apologize for it either. I do see though, that players in {warlighter} and several other clans don't improve besides a select few of their members. (See: warflowvet{warlighter}) Instead of having a group of players who improve their competitive play, it becomes a tag for a player that immediately makes me think: Okay well, don't really have to stress this game.
Quite honestly, I think you have a better shot at improving by not being in {warlighter} than you do being in it. You'll spend a lot of your time fighting in {warlighter} than you would against players of actual merit and standing.
