So Im getting confused with the new rule for the XVI ladder. I thought that if you had X armies on a space, you couldn't say move Y armies to some space and Z armies from the same space to another? In my first game that didnt seem to be the case. Can anyone pick my problem apart and help explain?

So your slider is also appearing? Have you successfully used it, or is it just there when it should not be, but not actually able to be properly used?

No my slider appeared, and I actually used it properly, by splitting troops in eastern Africa. I also have contacted Fizzer about it.

Cool, I confirm that it is fixed. However, are you going to reset the ladder? some games have finished with no-split on.

I don't think the ladder should be reset, those games were played in good faith, and anything played in good faith should count, but players who did not know that no-split was not working may have been at a disadvantage, but it was not broken for long. I could go either way on it, but I don't think it should be reset at the moment.

It should be reset. What are people who made early illegal moves suppose to do? Continue like nothing happened and win games illegally or be honorable and surrender not even giving them a chance to win.

Depends if anyone actually made the illegal moves. In the first three games to be finished it seems no one did.

I'd like a reset. I have a game that is questionable, but I cannot tell for sure since the game has not finished yet.

@Conq 2 of the 3 games finished so far are Bort losing. He followed the rules in both games, doubt he did otherwise vs. you.

there are countless games that have not ended where people may have made an illegal move to gain an edge. Do we wait for the 1st game where someone exploited the bug or do we just reset now?

I'm not opposed to a reset, just not sure it's necessary, doesn't seem that many games actually had turns taken before the fix.

Whoops, somehow missed that. Though, I seriously doubt Bort beats you whether he cheats or not, he's terrible :P

He did it in West US later on too.

what if he does lose because of it? what if 1 single person loses because of bug exploiting? only a few hrs into the ladder a reset seems like the way to go.

If 1 person loses because of it, I'd happily vote for a reset, or a redo of that specific game.

There's also the scenario though of someone winning a game that doesn't involve cheating, and then losing the equivalent game after a reset.

Can swing both ways, which perhaps makes it better to only revert games where the winner cheated.

It's unlikely that even 20 games started yet when the change was made to fix the bug.

If you lose the equivalent game, you could just say you were going to lose the next game. A win taken away is nothing. If i was 10-0 id rather lose that and start over than start 0-1

In the 3 games that were finished before it was fixed both players noticed it and used split-orders except for Legacy vs Amerlafrance where Legacy followed the rules and won.


I don't think it's necessary to reset, but I wouldn't mind if it were done.
