The most constant part of the 1v1 ladder: Noobschool and Mathwolf have been ranked next to each other for months. Only newly expired games change their order, and then they naturally gravitate back to each other. These two define the ladder: be ahead of them and you are a top player. Be behind them and you are almost there. But who is better? Noobschool or Mathwolf?

and how do you have so much time to keep track of their rankings over a period of time anyway?

yes, but one doesn't usually go around, clicking other people's profiles and observing their graphs, right?

Time: I helped Noob improve on the 1v1 ladder. So I follow his progress about once a week. Every time I look, Mathwolf is right next to him.

Ironheart, the provocative threads aren't very provocative, and when the conversation becomes provocative the founder of provocative threads says they are meant to be fun not provocative. Likewise, this thread is not meant to be wet.

Yes, indeed! A very happy birthday to you also!

Math Wolf has been higher on the ladder and usually maintains the higher position over me. I also play quite a few more games than him. I usually have about 60+ more unexpired games than he has. I'm not sure if this means anything, could anyone enlighten me?

Also here is our list of games played together. (I promise it's all of them, I have nothing to hide, you can always ask him if you think I'm lying.)

1 v 1 Ladder: Math Wolf vs NoobSchool (AHoL) (SurrenderAccepted)
Season VI: Math Wolf vs NoobSchool (AHoL) (Won)
Season V: NoobSchool (AHoL) vs Math Wolf (Won)
Season IV: Math Wolf vs NoobSchool (AHoL) (Won)
1 v 1 Ladder: Math Wolf vs NoobSchool (AHoL) (SurrenderAccepted)
The Most Dangerous Game (Jai Alai?) --- Hunt (Playing)
Pikey's Invitational # 2 Redone (Eliminated)
4v4v4v4 @ Quad Earth Epitition...A...: First Round (SurrenderAccepted)
Season II: Math Wolf vs [WM] NoobSchool (SurrenderAccepted)
B LEAGUE: 2v2 Battle for Middle Earth: Game 4 (Won)
Pikey's Invitational # 2 Redone (Eliminated)
Pikey's Invitational # 2 4v4v4v4v4v4 New York (EndedByVote)
Fast Europe 3 v 3. Round-robin. 12 Teams.: Game 63 (SurrenderAccepted)
1 v 1 Ladder: MathWolf vs [WM] NoobSchool (Won)
2 v 2 Ladder: Alcarmacil and MathWolf vs Vamp -... (SurrenderAccepted)
2 v 2 Ladder: Alcarmacil and MathWolf vs Vamp -... (Won)
1 v 1 Ladder: MathWolf vs [WM] NoobSchool (SurrenderAccepted)
Hunt (EndedByVote)
America 12 vs 12 slow game custom settings (SurrenderAccepted)

You can see that in strategic 1v1, he has me beat 3-1. In 1v1's that are not strategic 1v1 I am beating him 4-1. Obviously he is the better strategic player, which is why he has such a more successful ladder record than I have had (yet!).

Math Wolf:
Best rating ever achieved: 2041. Best rank ever achieved: 2nd

NoobSchool
Best rating ever achieved: 1847. Best rank ever achieved: 15th

Obviously I can come nowhere near his ladder achievements. I can only hope to continue slowly improving and make my way up to that top player level. I'm glad for all the help (the now Huckleberry Finn)gave me, and I think it really did me well. Especially with the side affect of improving my non strategic games, where I feel I may be a stronger player than Math Wolf. We have played very few together though, so it's really hard to judge.

Is there anything I missed? Anything anyone else could fill in also? I know I'm not the most analytical or whatnot, but I think I did an alright job. I would like to know what other people think.
