Hi,

Step 1: Go to M'Hunters clan page on the website with this manager account.
Step 2: Press "Invite Players"
Effect: The page keeps on loading and the appropriate WarLight page isn't responding any longer. After a while Chrome asks me whether I want to quit the page. I have tried different browsers and have also tried the Chrome incognito mode.


Can someone confirm this bug?

Confirmed, same thing happens here. Your friend list is simply too large.

for further clarification, my friends list consists of 8742 players (auto friending).

if you dont want to clear the friendslist on your main, give an alt MR and make sure it has an empty friendslist (besides maybe a few players)

Also confirming. This happened to Zephyrum and has been a known issue since the 5.08 release, discussed multiple times on the thread about 5.08. The invite functionality is completely broken if your friends list is too large.

As a workaround, you could give someone you trust (with a smaller friends list) MR, have them invite your alt with a smaller friends list, give your alt MR, and then invite accounts from your alt. Or skip the alt-invite and just give MR to someone already in the clan and have them invite on your behalf. The third option would be to bypass the UI and programmatically invite from the console or from player pages (using Dan's userscript) but I believe there's no pre-existing working script to do that (Dan's userscript is broken, and the new clan pages are very different from the old ones since they're in UJS).

Dan has confirmed that he's not going to update the 'Invite to clan' script for the new update, as searching for people not on your friendlist is now possible so its not worth the effort vs the gain to fix it.

I asked the other admins in my clan to make the invite. Giving manager rights to an alt is a tiny bit difficult since I would have to invite that alt to the clan first...

Yep, like this suggestion said. :P

But if you're doing all that it seems much simpler to just have the trusted other Manager directly invite who you want to invite. I think Norman's figured it out.

These extra hoops, though, demonstrate the sheer annoyance of this 5.08 bug. I hope it gets fixed in 5.10. The easiest quickfix seems to be to just let the Invite page load even if it can't load all your friends, so you can invite by other means. Or to not try and load all your friends at once.

If Fizzer is afraid that ruins the aesthetics of WZ or prevents him from copy pasting stuff, just add the old clan pages under

without a button linking to it. That way, only people that understand how URLs work can visit the far superior clan pages.
