I am seeking suggestions for templates to include in Clan Wars.

The existing templates we have now will stay in clan wars as they are the Arena templates that Warzone Idle players know. However, as long as at least one Arena template is an option for each timeslot for the Idle players, it's OK to add additional template options.

Any template is eligible that meets the following criteria:
- It must be a 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, etc. Clan Wars currently does not support FFAs.
- It will be played in real-time, so make sure it's fast enough to be completed in a reasonable amount of time.
- It cannot use mods, as Clan Wars currently does not support modded games. I hope to add modded game support some day.

Fizzer, I'd like to recommend the following maps for CW: Great Lakes Basin, Battle Islands V, and Vossaria

There are a lot of good options. A few that come quickly to mind (using QM template):

3. Landria Block&Gift

I would like 1 team game in every time slot. Sometimes players plan ahead to play a certain time slot together and then it is a disappointment if there is no game they can join together.

It's a fast, unusual template and particularly good for RT (as you don't need to count and speculate about intel), but still completely different than anything on Small Earth.

This is a great opportunity indeed.
I think it would be great if the strategic community could reach a consensus on the templates we want to put forward, instead of pushing for our personal favourites. This would allow us to show to Fizzer that we are reasonable people and can agree on stuff sometimes.

I think that for 1v1s, AI's (Beep Beep I'm a Jeep's) suggestion to use Rento's template survey is a good one.
It depends on how many templates we're adding to Clan Wars but if we were adding 50, I'd say let's add the 50 from MTL
If we're adding n, then let's add the n more popular templates from the MTL. (first column on the spreadsheet, starting from the bottom).

All the first templates (Biomes of America, French Brawl, Strat ME, Guiroma...) have also been on the Quickmatch rotation for a long time, so they have a proven record for popularity and real-time play.
I would recommend putting the clock at 3m per turn with 5m banked for all those templates.

I agree with rakleader. It's good that you brought up the boot timers, because the current settings are very tough in this regard. Through my eyes, it's fine if one of the templates (on Small Earth, as it is now) has one minute boot for those players who don't have the time for a longer game, but two minutes for a template like Strategic 1 v 1 is considerably too short. 3+5, what rak suggested, is the standard timer (on most templates that are being suggested to QM and RT tournaments), so I believe we will easily agree that it's a good one.

+1 to Rak - that's a very sensible approach

Adding new templates based on popular vote is a great idea...

... as long as there's always 1 quick template, ie: SE with 1 min timer. This keeps the door open for people who don't have a lot of time for RT games. Having options is great, this allows people to duke it out on a variety of templates based on what they're good at, what they like, how much time they have that day, etc.
