I'm in the tournament "The Big World", hosted by funeraljames.
How is the number of armies we get each turn decided? None of my teammates or opponents understand it either:
- It does not fit with the bonusses we've got
- The "extra army per 6 territories" does not explain it.
How does it work then?
Please tell us!

Did you take into reconsideration army cap? I cannot say for sure, as this game is not ended and i don't see your bonuses and income, but it looks like probable cause of "different" army income, than you think it should be.

The thing that's confusing about "extra armies per 6 territories" is that it only applies if that number exceeds the base income.
Base income is 5 (which is standard). This means that even if you have 24 territories, the number you'd get from the extra armies is only 4 (24/6), which is less than the base of 5 so it does nothing. You'll still just get 5 plus however many you get from bonuses and cards.
However, once you get 36 territories, then you'll be getting 6 from the extra armies, which is greater than the base of 5, so you'll have one additional army. That means you'll have 6 plus bonuses/cards.
Every 6 territories you get above 36 give one more army per turn.

Oh yeah, army cap is enabled too. If you have a little message below your deployments that says "You've reached the army cap" then you should click it to understand that part of it. If that message isn't there then it isn't affecting you yet.

about graffspee's question:
it's because the sanction card is negative, it reduces his income by minus 50%.
so instead of reducing his income, it increases it.
