As promised in this forum post (https://www.warzone.com/Forum/543109-please-suggest-templates-clan-wars), two templates will be added to the rotation used in Clan Wars. These templates will be chosen by a vote over the next two weeks. The voting process will be similar to that we have been using to decide the Seasonal Ladder templates, but there will be some notable differences.

Eligibility:
Anyone who has played at least one game in Clan Wars is eligible to vote.

Deadline:
Voting will close on Friday, May 21st.

These templates were selected using the MTL template survey conducted by Rento (https://www.warzone.com/Forum/515946-mtl-templates-survey-results). These are 7 of the 9 most popular templates on the MTL (http://md-ladder.cloudapp.net/) - the other two were Strat MME which is already a Clan Wars template, and Elitist Africa which was excluded since another INSS template (Biomes of America rated as more popular in that survey).

Voting System:
Unlike the Seasonal Template votes which were counted using the Dowdall system, Clan War template votes will be counted using Single Transferable Vote (STV), which you can read about here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Single_transferable_vote. The implementation here (https://github.com/louridas/stv) will be used to count the votes.

How to Vote:
All votes will be made public after the voting closes.
Votes can be submitted by sending a Warzone Mail to this account. Do not edit your message after the deadline or it may be ignored. In addition, please include in your mail one Clan Wars season you have played in.

More templates could've been added than just 2. If Fizzer is concerned about too many additional templates confusing new players, then all he has to do is add a "suggested for beginners" tag to the pre-existing templates.

+1 to usernames idea

if that isnt enough, he could even but a "has feature unlocked" prereq on the non-default templates, which would prevent any unexperienced account from joining them

Out of curiosity, to the people who participated in CW Season 2:
1. How fun was it for you? Did it get less or more fun as the season went on?
2. What did you find fun about it? What was less fun?

I have my priors but want to see if others feel the same way as me... in my experience, at least, 2 good templates added to CW (possibly with not-great boot settings) might not be enough to block burnout. For me, CW feels like an obligation (due to the 40-cap, if I take a slot, I'd better play regularly or I'm hurting my clan; it becomes a small chore) and it's just easy to burn out when there's only 3 templates in it that I love playing on (SEAD, SE1W, Strat MME) and the matchmaking only really gives good opponents to players whose skill level is close to their clan's average (I got mostly players who were far below my level, and a few that were far above; I think I had maybe 2 opponents that were around my skill level and kept the game exciting). If the rotation were more interesting (e.g., it had more MTL templates... sort of like how the MTL has more MTL templates), that would stave off burnout for longer. Part of me suspects the format itself, with the 40-cap, creates this uphill battle against burnout. But I want to see what other players' experiences have been like, because I might be totally wrong.

Classic is really fun and rewarding to play- on ladders, on the MTL, in QM, just not so much on CW. But I guess if CW is kept very beginner-friendly, then the supply of new players will make up for the players who lose interest.

Also, why isn't this thread highlighted? Seems like people must be forgetting to upvote it.

I didnt really like it at the end anymore. TLA's position was pretty much know halfway during the season, and it felt like a chore to keep playing to keep that position.

At the end, it got a bit more exiting since Python didnt keep up, so we just managed to overtake them.

The new season is pretty exiting to start with, but im afraid the new season will quickly have a fixed top 5 already and it goes back to being a chore.

Season 3 will be shorter (smaller map, 20 win limit for territories). Plus we'll get these new templates added in the middle.

sure, but out of the 6 clans that already got a terr now, only LuFredd is a clan i didnt expect there to show up.
