My friends and I have started playing Warlight over the past few months through the Google+ hangout app. We'd play several games against each other for hours and hours so one day we decided to check out the Warlight.net site, to see what it would be like to have fun playing this game with others!.... What a mistake that was... Let me just say, I have played many many many video games online in my lifetime, and I have never come across a more stubborn, annoying, and unsportsmanlike community in all my time playing games online. Apart from the few and far between games where everyone would play to the end and say GG (I do appreciate those of you who do this). Most of my games end in preemptive surrenders, when the games aren't actually decided yet, or people who don't move so they get booted because they think they've lost the game early. Who does that? How can you have fun in this game if all you do is surrender whenever you lose a battle? When you're losing, but not out yet you still have a very important ability to affect the outcome of the game. You can delay someone from getting a bonus, harass with your remaining armies to do some damage or even come back if the other players attack each other. But no, everyone always just surrenders whenever they have a shred of doubt and they think they might lose. Despite my apparent pessimism, I do believe that this is a salvageable community, a salvageable game. One rule I propose is that you may not surrender until you are the second to last remaining player on the map, and you will clearly lose. This way, when you're losing but not out yet, you can still carry out your obligation to have an impact on the game for the remaining players. I think if you follow this rule it will make the game a more enjoyable experience for everyone, because honestly who has fun when the other players just surrender? Not I, and not my friends who play this game.

One of the many reasons I only played 1v1 for most of my time on this site.
That said "Most of my games end in preemptive surrenders" is probably wrong. You probably don't know what a lost game looks like because you haven't played many of them.
"or even come back if the other players attack each other" Oh you were playing FFA. Why would you do that? No sympathy.

This player has been booted 9 times (13%)
We do have a lot of friendly members who will keep on playing till the end but because of your own boot rate you're probably excluded from playing such games with players like that (they'll have a maximum boot % of 10 or 12%).
So before complaining next time just be sure to play some games without getting booted yourself and see if that changes anything
