I've now completed the single player levels with a satisfactory result, and although ladder/membership is tempting, I dare not join (the last time I jumped into a game wholeheartedly was World of Warcraft, and it took me 6 years - and many server #1's - to get out again). I can already see the potential for full addiction with Warlight, so I'm going to stay on the sidelines...

Inspired by the threads concerning market vs communisum, and in the interest of generating some competition around who can bitch-slap the AI hardest, I am going to put some money on the line and see if the "market" reacts. I am hereby offering to pay membership for anyone who can beat my stats in the single-player levels. By this I mean completing all the single-player levels (including tutorial) with fewer totals moves than I have used.

I look forward to someone (anyone) taking up the challenge!

As tempting as it is, it is mathematically impossible to beat level 1 in fewer than 6 turns. Nice idea though!

Or maybe I misread. Maybe you meant fewer total moves for all levels rather than beating each individual level in fewer moves. My mistake.

@Maximilien (de Robespierre): You don't need to beat me on *each* level, but on the total score for *all* levels combined. I realize that my scores on the tutorial and on level 1 are not beatable, but they are also very easy to match.

My score on Europe is also very close to "perfect" (unless your AI partner in a stroke of random brilliance decides to head south and take and hold Turkey/Cypress/Greece - which I've actually seen happen! But once again, Europe in 14 is actually not difficult.

Your chance to best me lies primarily in Level 3 and "Crazy Challenge", where I simply don't have the patience to play dozens of games in the hopes of getting the ideal layout that favors a really quick win. But therein lies the fun! I'm hoping that single-player fans and cheapskates alike will give it a run and report back. Hell, I'll even send $30 to existing members who can beat me...

I could do it like you. Make risky moves and every turn it works you save the game. But that will take way to long for me -.- No patience for that and much more important no fun or stragic (seriously, trying something till it works in WarLight is not a sign of good play in my opinion). It seems to be the only way to complete challenges like the Insane challenge though. Which is quite a shame IMO.

Even I want the Membership for free but... defeating AI ... u should find a better way or do what all people offering do a tournament (someone can create for u) but it will take some time

It's cool you want to help out. I can understand the addition element.

However, offering a membership on single-player stats might not be ideal, partly because it's possible to cheat in single-player (all of the game takes place on your own computer, so there's nothing stopping someone from hacking the client and faking scores, see http://wiki.warlight.net/index.php/Cheating)

Instead, you might want to consider hosting a free membership tournament, since it's not possible to cheat in multi-player. It's also more fun since you can watch the tournament games, see people's chat, etc.

lol, when i was looking up solutions for the insane challenge i found one that gave you an extra 100 armies/turn. it worked perfectly, great strategy =D

this game has 988 turns and take more than 1 year in real life with me and dagorin without getting booted and playing at least one time per 3 days, because automatic boot 3 day

but this way probaly u will find few peoples with more time in real life (and at least 2 people playing, not AI vs 1 person)
and if u look by turn is easy to find over 1000 turns

All I want is a convenient and give a chance to many people (single person someone can cheat)

other thing. if u do a way to select someone exclude the membership player because I think its unfair one person has 2 or more chance to get membership because they are friends or in the same clan or etc...

a tourney similar to that is one i once saw where its using the tic-tac-toe map with gift cards and bonuses are negative, i think timinator was in this tourney and while it takes forever it has strategy in it so you can win without the other player making a mistake

stop begging for memberships and double posting...
