Piggy made his intentions perfectly clear as to what he was doing when he came back this time. He wanted to see how far the ladder could be pushed. Before this, he had never attempted to game the ladder and still held first.
Exactly - piggy clearly said before rejoining the ladder, that he wanted to exploit the ladder to the limit to see how big ranking is within reach, and if the tactics suggested by gui are really that helpful, and he did exactly what he announced. So your accusations Aranka are not appropriate here. Piggy proved a point and uses the ladder faults as a tool neccessary for this experiment to succeed. Sometimes you make me wonder why do you keep this attitude of yours Aranka..
I don't understand where all this hostility comes from.
All I did was point out that this tactic has been done before and that I was sure piggy has done so too BECAUSE he has said he would do it.
Whether or not something is more ethical correct or not if forewarned is a different issue all together.
Bottom line is that dead piggy HAS used this tactic. I merely observed the fact.
I'll leave the ethical/moral implications of this to others.
piggy said he would game the system. but then something peculiar happened: he played all his games and won and didn'tnneed to game the system to postpone losses because his first loss didn't happen until after his 15 wins. by the time he got a new ratings record he had already grown bored with his original plan and did not keep his game count at 5 (or postpone his only loss) in order to exploit the system.
look at his games, game count and play speed in all games before criticizing him.
I said I was going to game the ladder as hard as I could to prove a point and then didn't do it. When my first loss (against jupiter) became unsalvagable I had already set the record for highest ladder score (previously held by ollie who was delaying losses) and was rated 300 points higher than the person who was in second. I thought about carrying on, and delaying losses, but my rating was never going to get much higher because noone else had a score high enough to be worth beating. It is also terrible sportsmanship to draw out a lost game. So I surrendered to Jupiter, and did what had to be done to keep Beelzebub off no.1 and left the ladder.
You can see that I didn't delay losses by looking at my old games =/.
To spice things up... you know that you are the reason Beel is #1 now? Your loss against brisk lowered your rating significantly, lowering gnuff's rating in return :P
