i dont understand how that quote makes sense. Normally in a game you win when they surrender, which they control when they do surrender. So they are saying they shold have surrendered earlier but they didnt?

It means that if the winner had attacked differently, the game could've been earlier much sooner, and probably should have.

For the record, I wouldn't mind so much if it was coming from someone who had a better 1v1 record, but both times it has happened to me, my opponent's record was at least 20% worse than mine. I'm a lot less likely to accept constructive criticism from someone who loses a lot more frequently than I do.

The best example of "You should have won a long time ago" is the single-player challenges.. When you\ve beaten one of them, but didn`t achieved a gold star then you know you should have won a long time ago. :p
