Methods of joining:

The easiest way to join this tournament is to post here. You will be thrown into my invite list directly, and be thrown into the total count of participants. This will help me gauge how many people will be playing and how big to make the tournament.

There are two other ways to join. I will be making a "Lobby" to test whether or not the participants signed up are active. This will show up in the tourney listings. So either you can be invited to it, or join it outright.

Lobby:

Even if you post here and get thrown on my invite list your spot is not guaranteed. You have to prove to me you're on at that time. I will be inviting everyone I know on Warlight into this "Lobby", to guarantee your spot you must join that tourney.

Q/As

Q: What happens if we don't get a nice number of people that would make the brackets logical?

A: Everyone who joined the Lobby will be thrown into the actual tournament, if the number of people is greater than the bracket, then it becomes a contest of joining fastest.

Q: Who hosts the stream or tournament if none of the hosts can?

A: Unfortunately no one. This is the reason we went a month only having a single tournament each week. We're always looking for new hosts, though!

Q: I don't have a great voice and speak English terribly, but I do want to help the analysis, how do I do so?

A: Add Mythonian or one of the commentators on Skype. We all have Skype up during the tourney and can get your thoughts conveyed.

Q: I signed up, but I'm not getting invited. Why?

A: Message Mythonian or someone on Skype.

Mythonian - you read my mind - last week after i won my legend status, i made a very similar spreadsheet :) did not finish it yet, but on mine there were two additional things - every event had a link to the tournament, and i listed second places as well.. you may consider it..

and i'm so sad now that I'm in legends, the winners are no longer listed on the forum post :( ;P

and there is a big mistake in your spreadsheet - the right hand winners column - the one with widzisz and psy has wrong script: (=countif(D:E,L28) instead of =countif(E:G,I28)). cheers.

It´s a pìty, since Lolo left not too much has happened in the 1vs1 tournies or coffee breaks, since mtth doesnt have time. It is good it is still going on, but more could be done.

Personally I think it has lost the main appeal which made it so successful the first couple of months.

The number of people / teams turning up just isn´tthe same :( nowadays in the 2vs2 we struggle to get 8, whereas before on the 1vs1 i think once there were 64 participants.

The settings are making people turn away. Most people who are not members have never played the East Asia & Oceania strategic 1v1, or Szeuropa 2v2, and on these settings practise is important. In the first couple of months it used to just be strategic 1vs1 and strategic 2vs2, which though some may view as repetivie, it is arguably the most widely supported template and anyone can play realtime or multiday to practise more.

Also the livestreams. At the beginning people who were not great could have their games and mistakes looked over by people who had more experience, which helps improve massively. The streams these days arent as good as before, arent as many guests for example.

These days, not anyones fault, the people who play are mostly pros, so any newer player usualy loses the first match easily, meaning it isnt looked at on the steam and they dont improve much. Before there were a couple of good players who often turned up, but a large majority were newer, meaning you had unknown players in the semis and sometimes even the finals.


Good luck with the tournament and the stream tomorrow though, I hope it happens :) unlike the 1vs1

does anyone know if lolo planned to be gone for so long? its only been 64 players when fizzer came to help. a big reason its less popular is because lolos invite list was bigger so more people got invited. Finally, less people come because the lobbies are required to be realtime lobbies, so a person wont get emailed when the lobby opens

Yeah, sorry for the lack of the 1v1 tournament. 2v2 will happen as planned tomorrow.

However, for future weeks it will probably switch. The 1v1s will happen and the 2v2s will be uncertain until we can get another person able to host a stream.

@Fridge, I fixed the formula. Thanks for pointing that out. I plan on adding much more when I get some more free time. :)

@Timinator, not entirely sure what you mean by "win-quota," but I plan on adding a variety of stats and stuff like that.

@Hedja, part of the reason to struggle getting 8 for the 2v2s is as seahawks said, as well as that we stopped posting threads for a full month. The settings may, as you said, be turning some people away. If people want, we can go to a more standard setup. Depends what people want, variety or comfortability.

The lack of guests is mainly that (1) I'm the only hoster, and (2) most of the guest-commentators only did it once and haven't really shown up since. Sze, x, and sometimes Reza are the only ones who get on consistently for the tournaments.

Myth, you should change your invite list settings so anyone who plays a game with you is added to your invite list automatically, and your invite list will soon be very large. If you decide this is a problem it is pretty easy to cut it back down to just good players.
