The 2v2 ladder in particular is biased according to time zones. Because of the time of day Frank and I play, we seem to be missing out on a lot of matchups, due to most top teams completing their games and getting rematched earlier in the day. Why must the #1 team be matched up to a team with more than 400 points fewer than them? (Go V.I.W! I smell an upset i the making!)

But what's the rush? Waiting for more games to finish means better matchups on the ladder.

It sounds like a better way to go about this is to reduce the matchmaking range. Then it would simply pass over matchups with a big rating differential and wait until someone closer becomes available.

Right now it creates games every 2 hours. The problem with making this 24 hours is it introduces a big delay, especially for brand new teams waiting to get their first games.

So I guess the idea is that eventually top teams in different timezones will eventually play because each team will exhaust the options their own timezone? I guess that could work. I suppose we'll see just how well by the time Frank and I get our next matchup :P

Regarding 24 hours being a large delay, I'm not so sure it's that big, it's only 1/3 of a turn after all. But yeah that issue didn't occur to me.

It is a big delay when you think about it - 12 times more than at the moment! Reducing the matchmaking range would solve your problem because it would prevent you from ever getting games with people much lower than you. It would also slow you down from playing much better rated teams too though.
