Just started working on this, have a lot to do still:
http://warlight.net/SinglePlayer?PreviewMap=36393

But, I wanted to get feedback on bonus names. I tried to stick with names from Medium Earth to help with the confusion of where continents are before the shift to present day. But, I am not sure if the cardinal directions still make sense because some like East/West Russia are flipped. I could go to non-cardinal direction names (like Siberia there). Or should I stick with the cardinal directions for present day locations?

Obviously I have not broken up territories/assigned them to all bonuses (nor have I altered most of the bonus amounts yet). I also have some bonus borders to clean up (I did an offset for many and need to fix those). I set the 0 bonuses though so you could see where some transition points will be. I hope this will be pretty strategic, but I am sure it won't be as nice as ME with the Americas/Africa bunched like this.

For those not familiar with Pangea:

I also decided to break up South America with the continents bunched there. If you have any suggestions on altering other bonuses like that to make it more strategic, I am open to feedback.

I have to divide Russia/USA/China still but you can assume an even E/W divide on there.

Beautiful. A bigger version would make it complete.

What do you mean by bigger version? I plan on it being 100-150 territories, do you mean one around 500?

Looking good Chris. I'd suggest for strategy, connecting some points of East and West together, perhaps.

Yes, there will be wraps since it is still a sphere in reality. North/South will connect through Japan and there will be an east/west through Alaska. Not sure what all connections I will do yet.

you mean you intend to turn each of those 4 bonuses into several territories, right?

The problem with the names i that if you change them into somethign as latin america for south america there wouldnt be any latins back then either, tou might follow some more geographic refrences, like andes region, but that oly refers to the north of south america, amazonia or something else, the same problems apply everywhere else

Yes, those are bonus outlines. I have only put territories into the 3 bonuses at the bottom.

And you are correct, each naming method has drawbacks. For example some mountains did not even exist (the Himalayan Mountains were created when India slammed into Asia from where it is located on this map).

Wow, I searched the map list and did not find it and assumed it had not been attempted. I didn't think to search the forums. Why did you stop Fridge? I am already pretty far on mine as you can see.

His looks like a bigger version, so I think they could both exist (like medium earth and heavy earth).

I haven't decided what to do with Cuba yet. I could make it a 0 bonus and force connections between USA and South America through it, add it to either bonus, or just leave it as a non-territory.

I decided to do East/West USA based on the Mississippi instead of state boundaries too.

That looks nice. If Cuba's that small little Island under East USA, I don't think it should be a territory.

I was just about to start on a Pangea map. I'm glad I read this first. Maybe I'll do Pangea Ultima. The speculative Pangea of 250 million years in the future.

That would be interesting Blortis

I have finished putting countries/bonuses in and everything should be linked properly. I still need to clean up/simplify many borders that look jagged.

How do the bonus amounts look? I need to take a closer look at the balance of the map, but would appreciate any feedback there.
