New to game. Looked through treads but didn't see this. When I'm playing in the game and my smelter needs exceed my mining rate, I see the waiting for resources message. But when I leave the game and return in an hour or so, I have a lot more ore available for smelting (which eventually dwindles over time). So, what's going on? Does the game mine more ore when you leave or does it smelt fewer bars? In either case, there is a problem. Shouldn't the mining vs smeltering rate stay constant?

Andy, No, of course not. If you don't know the answer, why did you spend your time replying?

I'm not 100% sure, but I guess it works similarly to how the Auto-advs now work. Auto-advs used to only activate once you come back to the game (which was an acknowledged bug), now (with yesterday's update) your idle time is split into several segments (Fizzer once mentioned the number, iirc it is something around 100 or so) and the Auto-advs activate once per segment. The problem with smelters (or crafters) that don't have enough supply is that their state isn't as easy to calculate and the game doesn't want to actually simulate every single second of idle time, so the game uses an approximation, which is close but not exact. But from my experience, if the recipe needs a few hundred ores, you should only have a few thousand ores when you come back, that are quickly turned into alloys. The mine production, though, should be pretty much [idle time]*[mine production]. If "a lot more ore" is way more than I said, perhaps inform Fizzer, this might then be an actual bug.

Thanks, Phoenix. Yes, it was only enough to make about 10 bars, or so.

Fizzer said in thread "Auto-upgrade inactive during idle time" that it is (was) 50 slots. Not sure whether still the same after the new update.
BTW how to do quote or link other post in the same or different thread?

You can quote any text (even external sources like wikipedia or so if you want to) with the [ quote ] ... [/ quote ] tags (without the spaces before and after "quote"). The forum treats it as plain text, there is no such semantics as same/different-thread quotes or so. Links are immediately recognized, so just put them in your post. PS: At least in browser, there is a nice list of all supported tags (called "Formatting Guide") at the bottom of the page whenever you write a post in the forum. Don't know how this looks on mobile.

Oh ya, there is no such list on mobile, neither preview.
