Last week we had a record-setting 1v1 tournament of 128 players, but we won't be going that big anymore. Due to many suggestions and some great discussion in last week's thread, we'll be adding some prerequisites so that we will hopefully not have people join and then never do their turn and just get booted. Post some suggested prereqs for us to use?

Also, do the lack of another host and my schedule preventing a full stream on Sundays, we're moving that so it starts earlier.

Methods of joining:

The easiest way to join this tournament is to post here. You will be thrown into my invite list directly, and be thrown into the total count of participants. This will help me gauge how many people will be playing and how big to make the tournament.

There are two other ways to join. I will be making a "Lobby" to test whether or not the participants signed up are active. This will show up in the tourney listings. So either you can be invited to it, or join it outright.

Lobby:

Even if you post here and get thrown on my invite list your spot is not guaranteed. You have to prove to me you're on at that time. I will be inviting everyone I know on Warlight into this "Lobby", and to guarantee your spot you must join that tourney.

Q/As

Q: What happens if we don't get a nice number of people that would make the brackets logical?

A: Everyone who joined the Lobby will be thrown into the actual tournament, if the number of people is greater than the bracket, then it becomes a contest of joining fastest.

Q: Who hosts the stream or tournament if none of the hosts can?

A: Unfortunately no one. This is the reason we went a month only having a single tournament each week. We're always looking for new hosts, though!

Q: I don't have a great voice and speak English terribly, but I do want to help the analysis, how do I do so?

A: Add Mythonian or one of the commentators on Skype. We all have Skype up during the tourney and can get your thoughts conveyed.

Q: I signed up, but I'm not getting invited. Why?

A: Message Mythonian or someone on Skype.

:( was hoping on strat 2v2 again. I think the prereqs should be 200 games played and 40% 1v1 win rate, but invite your normal invite list to

200 games, 31% winning % (the guy who beat gnuff had 31%), 8% boot max ?

will it be the first round number tournament without shortlist round robin..? maybe we should keep that tradition?

maybe we could do a 2v2 shortlist? what about this?

I don't welcome any prereqs besides for say 100 games played and a good boot percentage.

+1 luxis - 200 games is to much if we want to teach people by this streamed event. I agree with luxis. i know i was the one who suggested winrate and i mentioned 30% but yes - i think we should just make minimum of 50 or 100 games with good bootrate. Let's encourage new players to participate and let's do our best for them to improve. This series should not be an elitist arena. Not until we find a second host and make two separate livestream levels.

and yes - shortlist round robin 2v2 would be great.

i know shortlist 2v2 RR is a great idea. the problem is:

Well, i dont know if I will be able to do either 1v1 or 2v2, they are sending all Star Wars movies from Friday onwards. For prerequisites: 10 % maxium boot rate and at least 40 complete games

Gnuff - I would say yes (given I qualify), but I can't tell for sure if I can commit at the given time. That's why WL gets me stuck in the first place, it doesn't constrain my liberty.

if we find at least ppl, we could do it, or if we get less, we can play on multiaccount maybe.

Heh, the boot rate scares me. I almost never get booted from real-time games, but I often get booted from multi-day. Please invite me, as I will not be able to join if you set a low boot rate. Thanks. :)

I created the account "WarlightTutoring" to use it as a tutoring account to help others improve while playing against some of the best players of warlight, while at the same time being able to listen to advice and ask questions. I never made big of a secret out of the password, cause i thought people would respect the idea and not fool around with it.
Apparently this was naive.
So, whoever used this account to post here in the forum, it was not me.

Heavy earth :(

I might try for the 1v1 tourny if i can make it, definitely will not play on heavy earth, i dislike heavy earth with a passion.

If there is a 2v2 shortlist, i doubt I would make it, but depending on when it is and what settings I might make the cut because better players cannot make it.

what is the prereqs for shortlisted tourneys? i want to know what my goal win rates should be

they're not prerequisited. only a SHORT LIST of people are invited to this ROUND ROBIN. So you have to earn the invitation by being recognized for your skill. Stats are irrelevant.
