1 for me as well. Took me about 6 months to get there (I'm not paying for anything, either in coins or dollars). Looks like the second ascension will be about half the time. But I'm also playing most of the hardened levels as well.

You'll probably find that it's more than 2x the speed, then again, maybe I shouldn't speak so quickly b/c the new wave of players seem to be extremely fast (Xeno, functor) so if you're in that crowd, would be difficult to go beyond 2x of what is already very quick speed.

It'll probably be the last time that I do a "proper" ascension, as in completing all/most levels before ascending. From now on I'll probably just do Europe Huge and a few hardened levels between each ascension, skipping most levels. While the small levels have a good AP per level time value, they have a pretty bad value of AP per attention/effort needed. With a limited spare time in real life, I'm going to focus more on hardened levels and long levels, which has a lot more idle time and AP, but not a lot more attention needed.

Have you done an actual analysis on AP earnings by level or just estimating it from experience?

It's hard to calculate "effort needed per AP" because it's hard to quantify "effort".

Agree, it's hard to measure . . . using time alone either Real or Session isn't a good measure without somehow factoring in use of artifacts & powers as well, also Dead time, and truly Active time, whether it was a speed run or a casual run, etc. Some days I micromanage a level, other days I just put AQ on and come back in 5-7 hrs and see what's up.

I did my third Ascend the other day.

According to my spreadsheet, I have a little over 83k AP.

I’m beginning to wonder if I am better off skipping the fodder levels.

I reset because I wanted to go from 3 simultaneous levels to 5 and had spent a bunch in stuff that really didn't matter. Also I have gotten like 1500 coins from reporting various bugs so meh.

@Z I pretty much just do the hardened levels, and really only play Europe huge (normal and hard) and let the rest be mostly idle. I can beat Hardened Europe huge in about 3 hours of active game play (using 4x time warp and 5x free cache). Memorized all the spots to hit and all the hospitals.

I got my third level yesterday. I thought about pouring AP into Simultaneous Levels a lot sooner but decided I'd probably start to hate idle if I did. I wish I could manually play one or two levels and let my autos run on the rest.

Haha I understand that. I'm staying on Simultaneous Levels 2 for a while and invested tons of AP on random stuff recently. Simultaneous Levels don't help with reducing the effort needed per AP gain.

Simul sounds like a good idea until you realize that it's actually just more frantic as you switch back and forth between the levels. I can certainly see how having 5 Simul unlocked could make WZI a chore.

But Math, if you have 5 Simul unlocked, that's 103301 AP in total ... where did you take all that AP from? Or did you just actually earn more to afford it?
