Really old post, but had to comment because it's a personal pet peeve of mine:

That argument shows that you don't actually understand what freedom of speech means.

Hint: It isn't applicable to anything on the internet unless referring to content posted on a site you created and host.

Specifically freedom of speech refers to government censorship.

Freedom of speech does not apply at all to any forums not affiliated with the government - the owners of said sites have full control over what users may or may not post on their sites.

For example: I can create a misogynistic site that bashes women and claims they are stupid. (Note: This is only an example, I am not actually making any such claims.)

I can also delete all posts made by women which aim to refute these claims. Freedom of speech is completely inapplicable in such a scenario, the only person with freedom of speech on my site is me, and even then only if I host the site myself, otherwise my hosting provider can pull the site at their leisure if it contains material they don't want to be associated with.
