So can I assume it's been fixed?
I want to start a journey with this map.

I don't think you will be able to assume this map is perfect for at least few more weeks, when some more games on it are played.
But you can go ahead and play it anyway, these are just little annoyances (except the broken Wyoming bonus, dunno if it's been fixed).

The map has brutally locked my system and crashed IE at work and home when I try to take fairfax. There appear to be two fairfaxs on the map. One is presumably duplicative causing the crashes. It can't handle an attack from "Fairfax" to "Fairfax" and crashes. The cities are so stacked up there that I open the map about 5x zoom and then move my mouse around the flashing arrows until a red one lights up and I can attack. At that level of zoom I have about the width of the line marking the outline of the arrow to select it. There are 5 territorries all stacked on top of each other such that you can't even read the number of neutrals. Everytime I select the fairfax to fairfax attack the mouse turns into an hourglass, the browser locks up and then it crashes.
I can ignore missing links (which are everywhere on the map), but an uncapturable territory that prevents taking a +95 bonus (VA + cities) is a fatal flaw. Has anyone captured VA?
I have more than 35 megabits download at both home and work and have not experienced slowness playing on the big US map, even when zooming in and out.

I just reopened the map in a different game, selected the second Fairfax and hit info. I got nothing. Just black in the mini window. It's a glitch!

I got it to work. The key was to make all of my attacks from within the "more info" pop-up and stop trying to use the big map at all. I'm doing that everywhere on this map and it stopped the crashes.

Duke,
Duplicate territory names shouldn't cause an issue. In fact, *nothing* WarLight can do should cause your browser to crash - that sounds like a Flash bug. Can you post what version of Flash you are running?
I tried clicking all around Fairfax and capturing, transferring between, and doing everything I could think of with every territory in the vicinity.
Now, some of those territories are unbelievably small. It was quite an unpleasant activity trying to click on them, or figure out how many armies were in each. But I didn't encounter any crashes or errors. So it's difficult to say what's the issue here.

In Louisiana there is St. Martin which is split to two territoriers with no visible connection but still it's one territory. There are also connection mistakes around like Vermilion is not connencted to Iberia although it apparently should. In Texas there is unnamed terriotory but it was already mentioned in this thread.
And btw great map :)

Maybe it had something to with other applications I was running in IE at the time. I had Lexis searches up and that probably caused it. When I logged on after a restart later it didn't crash. Sorry for hyperbolic posting.

Also the state bonuses seem out of whack -- like Georgia vs. Virginia. Virginia has significantly more territories and a 30% smaller bonus. Some of the disparities are unbalancing. Would it be possible to generate a list showing Total State Bonuses and the corresponding number of territories required for each. That would be very helpful in determining other such imbalances.

These responses aren't exactly heartwarming.
Perhaps this map is just too big....for our present time?
Perhaps the technology to play the map properly is 5 years away? lol

yeah some starting spots are much better than others. and texas is amazing if no one is any of its border states i had 2 starting spots in a game, one in texas and one in a differant place, i think kentucky but i forgot. i was about to get my first bonus when i met people on 2 differant sides. i gave up and let them attack through me to each other and went for texas. in this game im getting texas next turn with like 280 income per turn. another guy on my team basically took the entire west and met no one all game and has only 350 per turn so if i started going for texas move 1 instead of like move 11 id be dominating. point is that texas is awesome if unmolested and sucks otherwise. south carolina seems like solid starting spot thopugh

I really like this map a lot. However, when I can't take a bonus for an extra turn or two because of some missed connections, it makes me want to loudly exclaim a variety of expletives while smashing my computer against a brick wall, then grab a baseball bat and smash what remains of my computer until each individual part is no longer recognizable. After that, the realization of what I've done will hit me like a ton of bricks, all the energy will be sapped from my body, and I will slump against the brick wall, curl up into the fetal position, and begin to softly cry until I fall asleep.
After a few hours of restless sleep, I will wake up to the sound of birds chirping. I'll brush the dust off of my clothes and stumble into the nearby electronics store, looking forlorn and disheveled. I'll buy a new computer. I'll hook up my computer and set up the operating system and required drivers. I'll look at my new machine with joy and then I'll connect to the internet. I'll open up a web browser, head on over to warlight.net and see that it's my turn in that particular game again. I'll go to take the bonus I couldn't get last time an.....What? Another missed connection. "YOU CAN'T BE SERIOUS". I grab my computer in rage and chuck it out the window. Then I jump out after it and hit it with a particularly savage elbow drop from 10 feet. Then I pull out the baseball bat and go to work. on it....
But really, I love this map a lot. It's quite fun!

Would you be interested in adopting the map, Impaller? Now that you have a financial interest in fixing it :)

Yes, I will adopt it. Let me know what the process is for editing and then resubmitting the map, and I will make it so.

Is there a point to create test game when you were just fixing connection and territory names? Just make it public already. :D

The point is that each version that goes public has to remain alive on the server forever, since games exist on it. Big USA consumes far more resources than any other map, therefore I don't want to have to maintain a dozen copies of it forever. I asked Rashaz to make sure the 1.1 version is perfect before making it public - I don't want to see a 1.2. Therefore, we want to make sure we test it extensively.
