Why do we use timeslot in CW games? Wouldn't it be better to work like a QM but you can play only once per day? You could select templates you want to play and it will match you with an oponent if available. If not you come back at some other time, when you are able to play.

Since wait times might be way too big.

+1 for doing something to make CW easier to play, it's a great idea but it's too much effort to play how it is now and too much disappointment when there are no templates that I like.

Don't compliment-sandwich your feedback. That's how you make sure the crux of it gets ignored.

It wasn't meant as a compliment at all. I'm basically saying that it took a great idea and failed to deliver on it.

Yeah, just be direct about that because ime gushing about how great it is basically minimizes the issue and makes it easy to pass off as inevitable criticism about some minor detail of a generally great thing.

Clan Wars is only great in theory but an incredible bore in practice, with a few easy-to-fix and frankly arbitrary/questionable design decisions transforming it from a fun game into a daily ritual of misery designed to suck up time and deliver low-quality/low-satisfaction matchmaking. It's great only in the sense that the Windows Phone was great- it could have been and had a promising start but the idiosyncracies of Microsoft's business and technical strategy doomed it.

CW is like Windows Phone, what a lovely comparison 😂

Anyways, to get back to the why timeslot question:
Timeslots are needed to make sure players get matched against players from other CW clans. Without slots, it would just be QM with much longer waiting times between games. That would make all clan ratings useless.

As pointed out above, if the whole system is changed you can do without the slots. But if you want to keep the current CW system, you simply need timeslots for it to work. (Fizzer will keep it anyways, just accept it)

No, much more players play QM than will ever join clans. QM will not even notice the 1 game a day it loses.

That's all that's required imho. Just add a "play as a Clan War game" checkbox on the QM dialog box.

If we absolutely need timeslots to ensure there is enough clan representation, make it hourly, even 30 mins. It should be a more accessible thing, smaller events throughout the day (more like WZIB), not big events which need mass participation to succeed.

Get rid of free wins. Scrap the fixed templates. Let everyone play what they want - just like QM, let people select the templates they want to play. Add another row, so it's QM RT, QM MD, QM CW RT.

Finally we will have lotto 1v1 in CW! ;P

The slots are hella annoying, I missed 3 slots today due to work, and another 2 due to sleeping, so that leaves only one. This is the reality for most people: they really only have 1 viable timeslot per day.

And if that slot doesnt have the templates you want, you can either not play, or play a game you dont want.

There isn't any point to a ladderboard unless you make the Clan Wars actually rank clans.

Right now, it is only a measure of participation. Win and losses matter a lot less than activity. Until you change the format, it just is what it is.

While I'd love to see the matches happen anytime (I miss the slots a lot), I am not sure that is a great answer. I feel like people would just end up without people to play against a lot.

Not having people to play isn't a huge issue if you're free to do it at a time of your choosing. Didn't get someone at 7am? Try again at 8am or 1pm, or whenever makes sense for you. Sooner or later you're gonna get someone.

Though I guess if some folks already suspect collusion, this would only make it worse.

Though this also implies that QM is a collusion infested competition as well.
