It's a combination of high level Supercharge Army Camp & high level Time Warp.
And of course tons of Phase 3 & Phase 4 Advancements, pretty much all the good ones from Phase 1-4.
When these top tier folks Super Ascend and lose all these top tier Advancements, make have a chance again.
Mathematician is one of the top Idle players, so he likely either has all Advancements maxed out, all useful ones anyhow, and skipped the ones that are potentially harmful during WZIB.
There're a few players with a similar setup. I did exactly the same as in the video in Floating Rocks today and got 3rd place lmao
Don't worry, I'm just farming the 25600 battle points for the Epic Artifact. After maybe like 2 weeks I'll probably get enough battle points for the that, and then I'll stop playing idle battles and continue to prepare for my first super-ascension.
Same for me, just trying to get that Epic artifact upgrade some artifacts, maybe do a SAsc ... guess there's nothing else to do in the game.
Probably a lot of folks going to do this tbh ... b/c SAsc resets BP, so either just throw away the BP you have now or level up to the next reward before throwing it away.
I guess the core problem here is that there is still too little incentive to do idle battles. If there was more incentive, then there would be more players participating in battles (even these days I encounter time slots where no battle takes place due to a low participant count, but I don't play that often, perhaps I just try the wrong time slots all the time), and then - similarly to CW - it would be possible to play more than one battle in parallel with players assigned by their "level" (*). Making each battle more fair for all players.
(*) I don't mean WZ level. But some form of measurement that takes artifacts and advancements into account. Such that players only encounter opponents that have a similar level of benefits.
@Phoenix The incentive is of course the 5 placement prizes which we all got out of the way fairly quickly, and the BP prizes which just take waaaay too long to accumulate. There needs to be some kind of BP buff ... playing 1000+ WZIB games to get the Epic or Leg artifacts is crazy.
And those incentives, well you can SAsc and re-earn them again ... or can you? I doubt you can without get lucky tbh, b/c once you SAsc, you won't even have AQ unlocked, nevermind enough Adv's and likely Artifacts to be able to place in the top 5 (without getting lucky to be in a slot with no experienced players but still 10+ players playing so it doesn't get deleted).
But the bigger question is ... do the rewards even matter at all? Some of the rewards are AP, some are artifacts, some are powers. Powers aren't bad and persist the SAsc, but unless you're going for 51k ML (and if so, bless your soul, you are a masochist), it's nothing special and you can get these already either in-game, from daily spins/daily rewards and/or raffles, so no need to do 100's of WZIBs for them. AP & most artifacts are gonna get wiped by the SASc anyhow, so there's no point in doing battles just to get them so they can be wiped away later. And I suppose this brings us back to your opening statement: too little incentive to do idle battles.
By the time all of us 4 SAsc, there will be others with super Adv's & Artifacts in our places ... though by then, you might be one of them, and that will solve your problem on its own.
I think idle should split when 30 players are in, this split could be made based on AP and artifact basis instead of random to allow the little guys a chance. I did the super ascend and still haven't been able to get first place in like 15 games I played whereas before when I had all the useful advancements I would get first place 70% of the time.
Better battle rewards, and a higher chance of doing well would get more players playing. "Next reward: 1,600 battle points to get 50 AP" Stuff like this is really disheartening. Somewhere around 80 games to get 50 AP... Not many players would want to sit through that.
