I was invited and subsequently removed from the following game:

The host declined himself and has now long been inactive. I never accepted, nor was given the chance to decline the game, and yet I now have it stuck in my active games list, presumably until the game expires after a few months.

I'm wondering if there could be some way to remove such games from your list?

afaik you\re stuck in those games, you can use filters so you don`t see them though ;)
