Dear Diary,
lets have a look at my game(loss) against DemHuntUA through the window of the statistics console.
https://www.warzone.com/MultiPlayer?GameID=29410918This is the board on picks.
My picks focus on europe and south america, while choosing indonesia as a 5th and australia as the counter.
DemHunt on the other side picks indonesia and australia as 1/2 and then follows up with SA/CA, WA and SCA.
We both end up with a 1,2,4. While I take Scandinavia DemHunt takes Indonesia and then manages to take South America as well. He shows up in force one turn and then proceeds to take the remaining territories in the next.
At this point he is one income ahead, but the number of armies on the board is even.
What follows are bad decisions on my side: overexpansion, missing card pieces and more overexpansion.
The statistics show me almost keeping up in income, but badly losing in armies controlled. I get eliminated in SA and the game is over by now. I try to outexpand him by going after Russia and Greenland, but the army difference is too big already.
In T7/T8 DemHunt has almost twice as many armies as I do (hello auto-surrender discussion).
GG
Learnings:
- SA and CA as picks should be reversed
- A safe Indonesia should be valued
- Dont overexpand
- Think about your card pieces
Yours truly
