Thanks for the serious answer to an unserious question. I'm guessing somebody else pays for your far-flung expeditions, though? Or do they pay medical students a lot of money in the Netherlands?
We get just as much money (or just as little depending on one's view on the topic) as other Dutch students. In the long run though I think medical students end up paying more then they receive because of the longer term of their degree and the adjusted needs with regards to future specalisation.
So coming back to my "daddy"....yes...he happens to be well off. If I receive more financial benefits because of that compared to other sons/daughters I wouldn't dare say. Some parents might spend income they have on doing activities with their kids on a weekly/monthly basis, mines prefer to go on vacation in the rare time they have free from work. In case they're not free they still want us to not hang around the house all the time so give us extra financial "vacation" income to ensure we can travel around the world (within reasonable limits of course).
