But the pattern seems to be instead of adding net new material, to focus on revamps of existing stuff, like Hard Levels, Super Ascend, etc, which really just forces a replay of the same content again. At least we got 17 new maps, I suppose?
Though tbh, instead of Super Ascend, I'd rather have just seen an _even harder_ series of levels that require fully maxed out Adv's, plenty of Legendary+ level artifacts, a new phase 5 Adv's, several of which are continuations of previous Adv's to allow beyond the limits of what's available so far, several to be new items like Army Camp & Hospital Visibility, Reduce Active Artifact Cooldowns, Increase Active Artifact Efficacy. Create some new artifacts, even create a new artifact upgrade level (or 2, even ... call them Phenomenal and Incredible), new levels to offer chances of getting more Epic & Leg in the same fashion as Rare & Epic in existing levels. Etc. Things like a few levels with low mercs, low army camps, low caches, where you need a high level artifact Insane or higher (Phenom, Incred) of TS, QS, DT, FH, etc, in order to actually clear them. Maybe even tie level progression into Adv Phase unlock criteria, so not just AP, but actually need to have cleared level X to unlock certain new Phases or even specific Adv's.
Basically, creating new stuff to max out, rather than just erasing what we have and going through the same slog again. That's what regular Ascend is for. Super should be ... well ... super.
I'd even settle for an Advancement that when unlocked increases the difficulty of each existing level so they become like 4x Hardened equivalents, and the Hards become some kind of monster Ultra levels.
What the game _doesn't_ need is tons of new recipes/alloys/ores. There's already plenty of those.
But going back to the original topic, Auto-Adv's being actually useful would be nice.
I'm probably going to ditch my time warp because the 16 hr cool down is inconvenient. A 12 hr option would be better. If I could pick a 4hr cool down, I'd definitely upgrade a Supercharge Army Camp to Legendary or Insane.
Being able to select a bonus to auto-conquer (joint strike required) would be fantastic.
@Master Jz What level is your TW? I just upgraded mine to 8 hrs to get more digs before SAsc'ing, to get a 2nd Insane artifact before throwing them all to the wind.
And have you not SAsc'd yet? I don't see any of the "Defeat the Idle level" achievements for the new levels on your profile yet, but I thought you SAsc'd a while back.
Legendary. The new levels are too difficult, so I skipped them. I may retry them next super ascension. I plan to sacrifice the time warp for an insane army cache boost once I get enough legendaries.
ACs are underpowered and very expensive to level up. SAC doesn't help much unlike on the other (older) levels. Mercs are very expensive. Even mines cost a fortune. So you're basically stuck on low levels (often level 1) AC, hospitals, mines and don't have a possibility to get armies and money.
Merc camps on the other hand are highly overpowered. So if you have one IM power or a leg/insane IM artifact, it's possible to sweep most new levels in reasonable time. Same goes for army caches and money caches. If you are able to reach those (IM power/artifact is required in most cases to get to the good caches), you get more than enough armies and/or money to clear a level.
So, getting to the few caches is one of the main issues rn.
Best strategy atm is getting to Hex Earth cause this level is very easy to clear and gives high AP, replay it a couple of times to improve your advancements and then use the IM powers that you find on Hex Earth (there are loads of all powers in Hex Earth including IM powers) to clear the other levels. Or upgrade IM artifact to leg/insane.
The first super level also requires tens of thousands of copper and tin bars for the techs. I hope to finish it with clan requests/artifacts before I get my next legendary started, but I don't think I'll be able to get the techs in time.
gah!! Actually think I knew this but forgot. Ok, so 10,000 bars is a legit pita. Are those one of the first 10 Techs that could be covered by Start with Techs at a later time?
