The local maps filter is so tiny, I thought it was about time to add to it. This isn't a call for map makers to go around making maps of places that are local to them because then we'd just get a bunch of maps of places in Europe and North America, which would be boring. No, what I'm suggesting is we cover the world.

So here's my plan:
Step 1) Go to WolframAlpha. https://www.wolframalpha.com
Step 2) Enter 'random country'. WolframAlpha select a country for you.
Step 3) Enter 'random city in [country]', where you replace [country] with the country that was the result of step 2.
Step 4) Research that city to see if you can find any building, park, or interesting looking area of the town.
Step 5) Make a Warzone map of that place in the town that you like.

I did this and I was given Suriname for the country and Moengo for the city in Suriname. Here's the map that I ended up making.

I've made a map of Milaidhoo, which is a privately owned island in The Maldives as part of this and now it's just a matter of waiting for the map to be approved.

The place where I live, Maricá in Brazil, would give a very interesting map, it´s a place with lagoons, beaches, mountains. But I don´t know how to make a map, and even if I knew, don´t have the free time needed to make it. There is a way to contact some mapmaker and give him/her some ideas or informations?

What is the program used to make maps? Can it be done on your phone?

@Kaboo. Maps can be made using any SVG editing software. Inkscape is recommended though because it's free and open source. Also, most map makers already use Inkscape, so you'll find it easier to get help if you use Inkscape. As far as I'm aware, you can't make maps on your phone though.

A couple new maps based off specific counties have recently been published and are not considered Local Maps, but Real World Maps instead (https://www.warzone.com/Map/11990-Wrzesnia-County & https://www.warzone.com/Map/43029-Lackawanna-County). Meanwhile other county maps are considered Local Maps (https://www.warzone.com/Map/41801-Tippecanoe & https://www.warzone.com/Map/39494-Tippecanoe-County-Indiana).

TippecanoeToo is LOCAL since first published. Just filtered for LOCAL and it came up in that category.

Reading for comprehension challenged, sorry.

To your point, what size or area acreage constitutes LOCAL? Is it because the county is a fifth order or less division (i.e.World/Continent/Country/State/County?)
