Do you have your heart set on a public toilet? If you can find an office block in a city centre they generally don’t have any security for the toilets, you have multiple floors where you can potentially evade detection and secure a spot for the night- and as the employees are more middle class you will get much stinkier poo as they will be well fed and able to afford food that will make their feces utterly reek- you’d also be avoiding the stress of having having to humiliate the homeless by beating them up to secure a coveted sleeping spot by a nice warm loo

Alternatively you could rent your own porta-potty and leave it in a public place.
