Well it is based on a computer game that uses pixel maps instead of vector graphics. Of course the conversion to an svg would be rough. Sure, i *could* have done it with an actual world base map - but for that i don't have the time, you wanna pay me for that, lol?
Or ... just leave it as it is and be fine with that. I have no idea how long it would take to redo the map, so if it accomplishes the goal you're looking for, leave the aesthetics as is and just publish it, fix connections, etc, as identified in any testing you do.
I was not asking for a redo. I have done maps myself before, I know the pain of it. I merely asked why they did it so pixely. They answered the question, so now I am happy. Have a nice day, fellow forum posters.
Somehow even worse. I would strongly prefer you to add nation bonuses (this time for every country, for example Muscovy's vassals didn't get a seperate bonus in the old map) or expand the map.
I would recommend desaturating the background colours. That bright yellow and cyan could be a strain on the eyes or cause potential mix-ups with player colours.
Very much so. If you could desaturate or darken the bright blue open sea to bring it more in line with the rest of the colours I think it would be perfect.
