Guys, if we all poured enough alts in, we could have 300 ranked people on the 1v1 ladder!

What if you're not actually playing both accounts on the 1v1 ladder? Like, if I play on Anna and create an alt that joins the ladder, but then does nothing except get booted? Is that still cheating?

a) if they're getting booted every single game, and I'm actually playing, then I wouldn't get matched with myself -- assuming there's a big enough ratings difference. b) even if there isn't a big enough difference, for example if I am in the bottom 250 and my alts are rated bottom 300 after boots, I'm not sure who would actually care if I get matched with a common opponent. It wouldn't exactly affect anyone in the top 10. Or the top 100. Or anyone, really.

I can actually think of many [good] reasons to put inactive alts on the ladder! Here are a few:
1. It helps discourage ladder runs. If those alts are sitting around with 0 unexpired games, it can be extremely tempting to try and use 'em. Having them always ranked, always rated, on the very bottom of the ladders will keep them in their place.
2. It inflates ratings! The more people, the more points available for distribution. If we pushed enough alts in to get past 300 people on the ladder, then the ladder might be able to sustain two people at 2400+. Latnox might get lonely, after all.
