Welcome to Week #42 of WarGamingLive tournaments!

Last week we asked you if you felt like the threshold for WGL legendary status was to low. Most of you guys told us that you feel the threshold is ok, since the list is not expanding to much anyway, and raising the threshold would make you feel like we want to limit the legendary status to only a few who already are there. We do appreciate the input, and we will leave the threshold as is. In the future however, at some point we will have to raise the bar, either by increasing the threshold, or limiting the max number of "legends" in which concept, if you have better record than last of the legends, you will replace that player on the list. If you have any suggestions on how to improve War Gaming Live events in any possible way, feel free to post here and we will try to make the WGL experience better!

1v1: http://warlight.net/MultiPlayer?TemplateID=328095 Italy Medium

2v2: http://warlight.net/MultiPlayer?TemplateID=328093 Gui's Medium Asia

Times & Dates:

Methods of joining:
I will be making a "Lobby" to test whether or not the participants signed up are active.
The lobby is usually opened around 30 minutes before the actual tournament. The lobby will show up in the open tourney listings. So either you can be invited to it, or join it outright.

The easiest way to join lobby tournament is to post here. You will be included in WGL invite list, and will be invited directly into it.

Even if you post here and get thrown on WGL invite list your spot is not guaranteed.
To be included into the WGL tournament, you have to join LOBBY TOURNAMENT first. Then depending on the number of people interested, we will decide how big the real tournament will be. Usually there are slightly less open spots, than people interested. In that case it will be decided following two rules: the priority to join the tournament will be given to the "regular" participants and legends of WGL. Then the other teams will be invited, and we will use first come - first serve rule - whichever team accepts tournament faster gets in.

FAQs

Q: What happens if we don't get a nice number of people that would make the brackets logical?

A: Everyone who joined the Lobby will be thrown into the actual tournament, if the number of people is greater than the bracket, then it becomes a contest of joining fastest.

Q: Who hosts the stream or tournament if none of the hosts can?
A: Unfortunately no one. This is the reason we went a month only having a single tournament each week. We're always looking for new hosts, though!

Q: I don't have a great voice and speak English terribly, but I do want to help the analysis, how do I do so?
A: Add Mythonian or one of the commentators on Skype. We all have Skype up during the tourney and can get your thoughts conveyed.

Q: I signed up, but I'm not getting invited. Why?
A: Message Mythonian or someone on Skype.

Tournament Results and Player Stats:

Stats are done for some Livestreamed 1v1 Tournaments!
Check them out here: http://goo.gl/glWHm (choose "1v1s" or "PlayerStats" at the bottom)

Mythonian will be updating them and adding 2v2s and more detailed player stats in the near future.

There is an issue with this: People changing their names won't be automatically detected by the system unless I were to have it refresh with the WarLight servers periodically (which I'd prefer avoid doing), so if you change your name and want accurate stats, TELL ME so I can fix it manually!! (also, this won't group stats from Alt accounts unless you tell me to manually adjust it)

Legends:
    Timinator: 14 wins 1 tie
    Heyheuhei: 13 wins 1 tie
    Gnuffone: 12 wins
    Frankdeslimiste: 9 wins
    Malamute: 8 wins
    Szeweningen: 7 wins
    Gangnam: 5 wins
    Myhand: 4 wins

Congrats to the winners and legends!

Yeah, I had an idea about the legends. I think to be a legend, you should have won more than 10% of the tournaments you have been in. You will have to take a look to see if that percentage needs adjusting.

I also think that maybe you should distinguish between 2v2s and 1v1s. You should have either two lists for each kind, or list how many of each kind the legends won, or maybe 2v2s should only be worth half of a 1v1 win.

I say these things because I am in danger of becoming a legend based entirely on 2v2 wins. Even though I have played in so many of the tournaments that really I should have won a 1v1 by now, even for my skill level.

I agree to what X has said. Before Sze left, he wanted to make the stats giving out more information. Foremost the win to participation ratio would be very interesting to have.

Yes. 2v2 and 3v3 and ties as worth a half point seems better. All 2nd places as a quarter point would be cool too. And who cares about the legend list and all the stats anyway? Why not just keep track of stats for anyone who has scored at least 2 points and list that? And have a win percentage (tournaments won/tournaments joined) next to each name on the list of winners? If legends aee desired, why not quality (win%) over quantity (total wins)?

Eg:

Tim 8.5 (11%)
Gnuff 5 (1%) lol

Of course if you win with your own alt, that means you get the whole point for a 2v2 win.

1v1 Lobby has been created: http://warlight.net/MultiPlayer?TemplateID=328095

The 1v1 should begin on time in about 15 minutes, and the stream will be up, erm, sometime later, at http://www.twitch.tv/wargamminghost

You may need to be logged into twitch for the stream chat to work for you.

The tournament is now on! http://warlight.net/MultiPlayer?TournamentID=5227

Sorry if you didn't see the lobby, I didn't realize until now that Guffone used some pretty crappy prerequisites. So people who happened to be on my invite list got an unfair edge. :P Stream will be up when I feel like it~ I might even try using background music this time!
