Sounds very good to me :) I'm looking forward to it. I just wonder if buying membership will become less popular; perhaps if the levels aren't too easy it won't matter so much.

As a paying member, when my account is grandfathered do I keep all the capabilities?

will a new account (created after 2.0) that buys membership, get all the current member things, or will they have to unlock the member things from gaining levels, also will ladders still be member only?

Absolutely. I would never take something away from someone who paid money for it -- that would be very evil :).

Is there a max to what level you can reach?

Seahawks, Fizzer may not say if ladders will be members only because it will give away a feature prize :D

I expect it won't though, as the best (non-member) players will add good competition into the ladders. I think your level will be very high to get this though.

Ladders are already members only at the moment General Arun, but it does make you wonder if it will be open to high level free members.

It also brings the question up of do single player games go towards levelling up?
Also do you only get experience from winning or for taking part as well.

I like the idea Fizzer, Is there any way to prevent people like Beelzebub (who make multis and surrender with the multis at the beginning of the game) from leveling up unless they won a fair game? I like the idea of levels but I think ladder games, and big tournaments should be given more points, such as a championship being worth 10 points while a first round game is worth only one. Whether it's set up like the way I would have it set up or not, it still adds something to the game and is something else people can shoot for.

idk whether to think this is good or bad, i payed £20 for membership a few weeks ago mainly for 3 things; being able to create tournaments, changing luck and being able to invite more than 6 people to a games. From what you have said people will be able to get all of this without paying when 2.0 is introduced so i just wasted my money. This is my view and probably the view of some other members unless the unlocks you get when your a member are quite special.

I'm just curious Fizzer, will there still be only member-only capabilities, or will letting advertising onto the site remove the need?

I agree with andy ^, i know there are ads for revenue now, so membership wont be as useful for money, but i would like to think there are still some significant member only benefits, other than ads, which i (and many others) will choose to vieww

andy I expect most member features that can be 'unlocked' will require a very high level (which will take a lot of time). I see your point though.

Also Skunk if you read the blog post you'll see its only ranked games that count towards levels.

Guess so general but we dont know how long it will take to rank up and i would prefer to just rank up and get the unlocks instead of paying money no matter how long it takes

This will be against the rules, and anyone caught playing sham games will lose *all* their points and levels. Since games are never deleted, the evidence will live on forever and anyone doing this will eventually be caught.

They will indeed! Tournament points will be relative to the levels of players participating in that tournament.

I understand why you may feel that way, but you should wait until you see all the details. I'm pretty sure you won't feel like it was a waste once all the details are revealed.

Yep I see for some it may be a problem. At the very least you will have the same features immediately. At best, new features will only be accessible for members (like yourself).
