Shredtail mentions Jaques which leads us into part 2 of my thread. We can see that knowing the events of that play are just stage and Jaques beind the melancholic self-insert of Shakespeare's writing committee, that the world is likewise a stage. The kingdom of real love in exile (Frederick's banish-e-d) is also theatre i.e. a den of scheming rival families from the upper class who have not learned love, only wintery irony and protracted vengeance.

The banished of Frederick are the 'heroes' of the modern world which we know all too well; the thieves of the old aristocracy's estate, on whom no honest literature can bestow the rank of hero. Only infamy.
