What changes do you think could be made to boost overall clan wars participation? I was thinking of a few.
1. Rather than having CW matches every 4 hours, there could be an option similar to quick match where you can que multiple templates and be matched with similarly ranked opponents. Though thinking about this a bit, it may be hard to implement. 2. Tweaking clan war rewards, right now there's 6 (maybe 7) clans this season that'll get 10 territories despite it being such a long season. I think the 6 and 10 territories rewards is very meh and the gap is too large so it's offputting for smaller clans. I think adding a reward for getting an 8th territory would incentivize smaller clans. 3. Modifying rank rewards. 3rd-5th, 6-9th, 10th-20th, these ranks promote people to stagnate once they're secured from getting knocked out of this set of ranks. Also if you have less players participating and get ranked 9th for example, you get more rewards than the person ranked 6th as there's less people to share it with. That seems weird to me. I think the rewards should scale based off rank, higher rank, more rewards, even if slightly. 4. Winning matches giving some minor amount of troops/money in idle, similar to arena but less. 5. A notification similar to the one given for battles but in idle itself that's noticeable.
Just a few thoughts I had, I really enjoy clan wars, I just wish participation was higher.

1. More or new templates. ykw just kill off the top 40 in QM now and let new ones rise. Let us vote for the templates just like in seasonal ladder. 2. More territories, less wins for one territories. 3. Reduce the participation cap, but cancel the hard clan cap.
the objective of CW is to offer an alternative choice than CL

Some suggestions: #1 Give 1 coins per clan wars win, this will make player efforts feel rewarded. #2 Replace idle rewards with equivelant coin rewards. Not everyone who plays clan wars want to waste time on idle. #3 Add more templates, all top 40 1v1, 2v2 and 3v3 quickmatch templates should be there. #4 More easy templates like small earth ones. Most people keep playing them, so it gets boring. #5 Reward players for playing on different templates. Perhaps 10 coins given per template on which you have at least one victory when the season ends. #6 On clan wars map nothing is happening, maybe clan managers should be able to determine what territory they should get next. Maybe clans can compete for same territory to see which clan gets more wins in X period of time and therefore gets the territory.

A couple of thoughts:
I would doubt, that "boosting CW participation" is a good goal just by itself:
1. Let's say, nothing changes, but suddenly participation increases 2x. In that scenario, seasons are getting 2x times shorter, and a clan would need 2x effort to get the same rewards as they are getting right now. Depending on how one defines "boosting participation", some clans might not be able to secure the rewards, which they can get now. Basically, that might be just a rat race.
2. The CW participation is not that low anyway, if you think about it. - For example compare CW to Clan League. CW has a few hundred participants (550+ this season) and a few thousand games played (~3k this season) every season (=1 month), where CL has 460 players and 1-1.5k games played in half a year. Participation in CW in terms of playerbase is higher than in CL. - We have 2 competitive clans, which really outfarm the territory-based rewards and a bunch of clans (currently 4), which pay significant attention to CW. So I would say, current participation level does not handicap those, who want to play. There is some competition between clans for active CW players (btw, join NEETS if you want high rewards for your idle game), yet I think that it is more influenced by 40-cap and clans' ideology, than by CW itself. - We don't have figures, but it would be nice to have stats "% of idle players in clans" and "% of idle players playing CW". That way we might as well estimate, what a boosted CW participation would look like.
I would still advocate for Quality of life improvements to CW, not just for boosting participation, but for improving the experience of those, who already play or want to play. (and thus make CW more engaging):
1. More CW promotion: - Having notification similar to idle battles would be super. - Enable CW slot notification by default (just as annoying as inviting to multiday games :) ) - Make it more transparent to clans, that clan list page lists clans by their CW rank. - Rank clans on "join a clan" page by CW rank, and notify clans about that. - CW-related achievements
2. Make rewards more engaging: - Some of the rewards are just so inferior, so they discourage participating beyond some distinct levels
3. Make seasons shorter. Preferable 2-3 weeks (a little bit longer than the duration of CW buffs). That would: - enable more toe-to-toe competition moments - inherently boost participation, because, you will need to "earn" the rewards more often - enable more hype based on season results - open more often transfer slots for players and clans to attract players
4. More vanity stuff on the CW season page. - more stats, rankings etc. - something to do on the CW map, like picking territories/colors or CW chat
Not sure about:
1. How the CW templates should be changed. Ofc some rotation is needed. Yet stats show, that people play mainly SEAD (and SE1W, when SEAD is not available). I would assume, that there is demand for both quicker templates (add Duel lotto to the pool!) and for more strategic/slower templates for Classic-focused players. Also, just adding more templates to slots, may just harm current participation, because it might: 1) make pairings less fair, if current playerbase is spread through 5-10 templates within a slot; 2) make people skip slots, if they dont see an acceptable template (in case slots have the same amount of templates as now)
2. Whether a QM-like feature would be usefull. Let's look at duel lottos in QM. Idle players play duel lottos as a easy way to get the wheel spin, so it is much like a daily routine as CW games. And most of the times, you just don't get opponents in a reasonable time to play it. I guess, that until the CW participation is high enough, changing slots to QM-like queue may just harm the overall participation.

An option to change idle rewards for... anything of value... would be welcomed. #3 If you think that trying to master 40+ templates is fun, you should try MTL. Though replacing FB and guiroma with slot where players can vote for templates and making sure that every slot has at least one SE and MME/vote slot would be nice.

We already have skill-based competitions that has been ran by the players, CL (S15-16 interval), P/RL (S35), CB (S4-5 Interval), NL (S2021-2022 Interval)... CW should be based in both activity and skill and also should be fast paced.
