1. How do you put text on maps?
I tried by adding text then changing it to yellow, but it still didn't show in map editor.

2. How do you change background color?

1. Click the text bottun down the left hand side (presuming your using Inkscape)

Then you type in your text, - change the colour at the bottom,
then once you've done that go to Path >> Object to path

The background colour will always be black, unless you draw a square that covers the whole map, put it on the background and give it the colour you want but no ID.

How do you make image appear in map?

You can only make vector images show on warlight maps. You can convert bitmaps to vectors using the Paths->Trace Bitmap tool. Then there's a bunch of settings you can tinker with.
