So right now there is only the "Public", "Team", and "Private" chats, but there is no option to make a singular "channel" for a specific set of people that aren't in the same team.

So the proposal:
The ability to make "group chats" in games.
It's a feature where you could just click on a list of non eliminated players and pick multiple of them to form a group chat with those specific people.

This would be heavily useful in games such as large FFA games where you could make massive alliances with multiple people and you don't have to DM multiple people the same message in the each private chat for co -ordinated orders. So it streamlines communication in large groups for non FFA games.
It could also be helpful in Diplo games as you could use these group chats for the same reasons stated above in FFA games but for the added bonus of enhancing the roleplay experience and diplomacy of making organizations.

When only one member of the group chat is left non eliminated the group chat will then be archived and cannot be posted on any longer.

The host of the game could change settings about group chats such as:
-A toggle to activate or deactivate the feature
-How many people a person can invite into a group chat
-How many group chats a player can make in a single game
-If the existence of group chats are announced.

Hi @l4v.r0v so the reason i suggested adding options beyond " being able to create a private chat with >1 other player" is that so that players who prefer the old style of communication can also play games without group chat feature if they so choose.
Also, I do not know what you mean by "de-duplication", can you clarify?

de-duplication as in if there's already a group chat between players A, B, and C, player C can't create a new group chat with the same group

Hi I've searched up and read on this mod and the mod itself looks very good. But only players with membership can make games with mods so they don't come up (mods) very often from my experience. My point is that the feature should be part of the base game, and I made my post at a time in which I did not know the existence of the mod.

@Tapakha I understand your frustation of the mod being behind the membership wall.

I can't really do much except for giving you hope. Fizzer has said twice now in a short period that mods will very likely be his next focus point. He also said and I quote: "(talking about the Local Deployment Helper mod) If it eventually is rock-solid and it works every time and everyone loves it ... or become a standard, built-in feature"

Now this will take a lot of time before this will all be happening, so in a short time period my only advise is consider the membership :)The mods only are worth it and they will get better and better
Also, if you do buy a membership, TBest made a mod called 'BetterCities and GroupChat', its more suited for your scenario
