There are 148 clans as of the writing of this thread. 148 x 15 = 2220. $2k. That's 2000 Dollars over the course of a year. About $150/month. Somebody is going to be buying their woman a nice McDonalds Breakfast ;)

It costs over $1000/mo just to keep WarLight's servers online. So it's more like "I have to subtract less from my savings this month"

2000 dollars are nothing compared to the price of warlight's servers, and nothing compared to all the effort fizzer makes to manipulate warlight.

I didn't make this thread to get bashed about how I know nothing about how much WarLight costs. I just made it to overview how much money Fizzer's clans feature has yielded before having to pay to upkeep the servers.

and you think he didn't have to work hard to make all this?

If a few more features were as profitable as clans, then I'm sure a lot of server maintenance stress would be gone.

In response to your earlier statement, $2,000 is chump change.

I'm sure Fizzer will implement something added for clans in the next major version. I have no complaints about the money. As he said I don't believe he makes any money off the site right now at all.

We've been through this over and over actually. I might complain about simple things (changing luck on ladder, which he did eventually), sorting clan list with a real formula, etc. These things take very little effort but can go a long ways. But I've never complained about him getting rich on us. There is a LOT of lasting fun here without spending a cent as a player.
