Hey everyone, I have found the custom tournaments/events always interesting, so I decided to make something of my own :). Here is the explanation.


The tournament would consist of what I call 3 major parts, the first part where there are 32 players, the second part where there are 16 players and the last part where the final 8 battle in a RR for victory (from the following season I will put up some sort of qualifier if there is enough interest, I would people who got into the second part a beneficial position if there were one). nr. 1,2,3 and 4 of the final part (3) will be awarded an immediate spot into the second part the following season. (If people have left and/or this season these 4 will be decided trough a lottery system, only taking the best applying players here into consideration) and the other 4 would get into the first part without the qualifiers. Which means I would need 36 people to start (32 for the first part and 4 who got a free spot into the second part).

the first part will start with 8 4-player double-elimination tournaments (groups determined trough seeding). Winning or losing this will not yet award you a position into the second part, but winning puts you into a better position at least. The winning 8 will be participating in a 8-player RR where the winner will be awarded a direct qualification for the 3rd part and the 2,3,4 and 5 will be granted a position into the second part of the tournament. The bottom 3 will be send to redemption. The second of group 1 will be teamed up with the second of group 2, the third of group 1 will be teamed up with the 3rd of group 2, etc., you get the point (assuming that coming in second would mean you are better and you did better in my tourney, you should also be awarded a better team-mate). These teams will be playing a 2v2 single-elim. The winning team will be awarded a spot into the second part, the bottom 4 who lost the first round will be kicked out and the other 3 will be send to redemption (6 people have already been send to the second part and 9 to redemption). The losing 8 will participate in an 8 people Single-elimination tournament with only the winning guy send to redemption and the other 7 kicked out of the tourney. Now that we have 10 people for the redemption and 6 open spots for the 2nd part there will be 2 5-player RR where the top 3 will go trough and the bottom 2 will be kicked out. (now that we have 12 people from the 32 and 4 who got awarded a spot due to preforming well last time and lottery during the first season we now have 16 players and we can start the second part.)

The second part will start with 4 4-player double-elimination tournaments (also seeding, The 1,2,3 and 4 of last time will never be put into the same group). The 4 winning players will participate in a 4-player RR and the top 3 will go trough to the final 8, meaning only 1 guy will be send to redemption. The 4 losing guys will do the same, but here it will be that only the winning guy will be send to redemption and the bottom 3 will be kicked out. the middle guys will go to redemption immediataly. The redemption here will be a 5-team 2v2 RR where the loser of the winners RR may chose his team-mate. The rest will be appointed again trough the same system, the highest possible team-mate will be appointed to you starting from the top. e.g.: player 1 choses the the second guy of the first brackets, the 2nd guy of the 2nd brackets will than be teamed up with the 2nd guy from the 3rd bracket, the second of the 4th with the 3rd of the 1st, ..., and at last the 3th of the 4th with the winner if the losers RR. The top 2 teams will advance meaning that we now have the 3 guys from the winners RR, the 4 guys from the redemption and the guy that qualified himself during the first part.

The 3rd and final part speaks for itself as I have already explained it :p

As for the templates used, only the final RR will be strat 1v1 and the final redemption strat 2v2, as for the other templates, I decide, but I already know it won't be the general strategic 1v1. (It tough will be strategic in terms of that the templates will always use manual distribution and luck will always be low. And it is very probable that I will use widely know templates as e.g. Guiroma, Greece 1v1 and I will always ask your opinion). You can also post here which settings you like to see used in the first small Single elimination tournies. As for the boot time, vacation will be respected and it will probably be 3-day direct and 5-day auto. The RR will always be set to 2 games at once.

Special note: Nich has made a flow-chart for the first part, but due to some last-minute changes it isn't entirely correct anymore, so if he would be so kind to alter it a bit and post it here, that would appreciated, thanks mate :)

if you have any questions, ask them, remarks on mistakes or bugs in the tourney may also be stated here, and their mentioning is appreciated.

1 last remark, the first 36 to apply here will be participating and the ones after that will have to wait, unless there are way more people applying, I might already do a qualifier this season, altough I don't think that will be necessairy and I of course will be participating as well :).

Count me in. Can you make the RR at end only 2 games at a time though (if it said that I missed it).

Also, not sure you should be playing if you are running it. There are rankings, a lottery, etc that might bring about a conflict of interest.
