What’s wrong with clan wars in the current format?
There are three objectively bad things with CW now:
1)
Matchmaking. If a clan has a very low CW rating and 2 players from that clan join the same template, they are nearly guaranteed to have one of them not have a game (and no free win); regardless of how many opponents there are present.
2)
Rewards. Near the end of seasons, ranking is almost set in stone, meaning that there is very little reward for continuing to participate (this seems to be solved by shorter seasons). Everybody with at least 1 win gets the same rewards. This means in a clan, there can be a group of people playing 20 games and a group of people playing 1 game, both receiving the same rewards.
3)
Supports spite. If you make a big cooperative game/ event, you should make sure that nobody can hurt their group by doing bad actions. The CW/ cap violates that principle. Several capped CW-focused clans were met with a decision whether to kick people from their clan who don't participate in CW. Harmony, and possibly other uncapped clans, suffer from the 40-player CW cap. We had players who join CW and then don't participate. What are you supposed to do with such players? On one hand, this behaviour damages the whole clan and cannot be tolerated; on the other hand, are we really supposed to punish people for showing interest in a clan event?
