SE Commander + Bomb - An Alternative Guide: 2022-10-15 14:45:41

Hi guys,

SE Commander + Bomb is usually played in a way that the players place their picks as fast as possible and hope to get a first pick in South America. Here is an alternative approach:

In the past we kept the guide in our clan a bit hidden, in order to have an edge over our opponents in CW. But it's not extremely hard to understand for someone who has looked at our gameplay. When you look at the quickmatch leaderboard, you will see that the top players there play as is described in the guide.

4) As a slow picker we only need 3 picks.

What if two slow pickers fight each other?

@Norman,
Thanks.

What usually happens if one of the Wastelands is in SA or Oceania? The example in the video with such a start was almost an instant defeat. It seems that if you are initially mentally going to pick last, then when you see those wastelands, it would be difficult to switch to fast picking. Do the tips from the guide manage to compensate for giving up the only left SA/Oceania to your opponent (maybe in the long run)?

The way how I understood the "meta" of the guide: "We give up the 1st pick advantage (if there is any) for thorough picking and then utilize various tips to play efficiently". Wonder, whether "We still try to pick fast and then utilize various tips to play efficiently" is beneficiary (ofc, that would require some reflex-speed skill of picking first efficiently enough) or picking 1st in SECB is just straight disadvantageous?

Does releasing the guide mean that M'Hunters are stepping down from active CW competition? (or there is a newly more hidden guide to hard counter the published one?)

No, we will continue. Everyone could have always just looked at what our top bomb performers were doing and for someone taking the time it was not that difficult to understand the general concept. The most important part of the guide is anyways, the most trivial one which is to stop playing the bomb as if it had a 1 minute boot timer. Our clan has a new administration now and we aim to be more community centered which also includes that we want to interact more with the other Warzone community.

We have some clan mates who switch it from time to time. However our very best performers never picked fast ever. Regarding a game looking completely lost to you, let me assume that your experience comes from the other SE templates. However the commander completely shifts the balance of the game. During the picking stage you have to solve a puzzle and it is extremely rare that you can not find something good. For example, due to the commander being so strong, it should be possible to hold Mexico while taking North America and North America is also a 2 turn bonus with a single pick.
