As I followed the Wiki on Creating the SVG down on section "Including Text"

I made the text using the text tool in Inkspace.
I arranged the text exactly as I wanted it.
I selected the text.
I clicked on path and Path to Object.

When I uploaded it to a test file, the text didn't appear. Only the territories did. What did I do wrong?

You must not choose Path to Object, but Object to Path.

I tried Object to Path, didn't work. I even clicked on the text and make sure it wasn't editable since it was an object.

I think I found a problem that only territories are appearing instead of everything else. I tried a bonus link box and it didn't appear along with the texts.

Never mind, resolved. Someone should have told me that texts don't work on territories and black is quite broken from it regardless of location.

Considering that territories are brought to the front (made the topmost object) and that the background is black I figured that would be fairly obvious. If you want to include text "on top" of a territory you need to cut the text out from the territory by duplicating the text and then subtracting that from the territory.

What you're saying is in order for the text to be on top, you have to also include the texts in the territories?

No, he's saying that territories are always at the top, and in order to make them show text you would have to cut holes in them shaped like letters. But that's not advisable.

Ah yeah. As moros kinda pointed out (I think he was referring to this)people won't be able to click on the text inside territories and select the territory itself. That is of course, unless your text is between 1-2 pixels wide in which case you can use the Bonus border as a method for writing click-able text inside the territories.

BonusLink as a text of word, that's a genius idea.
