I look back and compare our clan to other clans I just think that its sad how some clans only have 20 members compared to our elite 140 members (and possibly more as of now)

Elite is defined more by superiority of power, ability, intelligence... than by rarity. Rarity is just a side-effect of the bell curve we all fall on.

Just being few in numbers doesn't make you elite.

That being said, the middle-school level of drama some people create is pretty funny to watch.

Elite is a term based on perspective. I.E. A Panzer IV tank was pretty elite in the day, but a M-26 Pershing or Churchill Tank put it to shame. Nowadays, those are all pretty pathetic compared to a Leopard ( I got that Deutsch cred ) or T-90.

Just because a majority of opinions claim someone is better than much of society doesn't make it true. A lot of people thought Hitler was going to change Germany for the better. He did. He just made everybody else a lot worse off. People often think FDR was a good POTUS. Those people often don't look at the facts of his administration. People like to think celebrities are awesome. Most of them are pretty dumb and most of them are pretty ugly people.

For that matter, a majority of people think Wolves clan is dumb. It isn't. Semicedevine is just dumb. Though I won't argue that they recruit a LOT of noobs. You see? Everything is very relative and opinionated when it comes to how good a group or person is.

You're all trying to redefine eliteness, but in the end Calculator is right.

It's supply and demand. Let's say we are all trading clan tags. There are 0 tags being traded for the Paper Tigers. Thus, supply is 0. But everyone would want to be that one person in control of a clan -- therefore, demand is high.

On the other hand, there are 190+ Wolf tags being traded. Supply is high. But demand is theoretically low, as Wolves have been pushing down the value of their tags, for some unfathomable reason.

Thus, in rarity and value a Paper Tiger tag would be extremely highly valued while I would buy twenty Wolf tags for one Illuminati.

If you want to define which clans are elite or not, competition is the only way to do it. The top winners are elite, the bottom losers are trash, and everybody else is just varying degrees of ordinary.

The definition of Elite isn't necessarily to be in rarity. Simply put, If you are part of a group that possess better-than-average skills compared to the average participant , then you are elite. So if you are amoung the top 49%, you are elite, by definition.

Assuming the recorded statistics take the shape of a normal distribution curve, value of standard deviation does not matter, since the number of above average people would be proportionally equal to the number of below average people regardless of standard deviation, so as long as you are in the top 49% of the group, even if there are a billion participants, you are elite. In this case, since there are 490 million people, its not exactly rarity.

Superior just means higher in status/rank. Doesn't have to be +2 or +3 standard deviation as you say, just above the mean makes you 'superior', since you are already higher in rank than the majority of particpants.

So, by default, my clan is more Elite than Calculators. His rank of 30 is below mine, such that clan must be more elite, as my clan has fewer low ratings. Even if the average of his clan is higher, mine is still more Elite as every player in my clan has be better overall rating.

My clan is just me. I don't need friends to cheat with..............
