Maybe there is something I'm missing but how do you guys find people to test your map?
You can't create a public game with a map that is in the testing phase so you have to add people manually.

How I've done it so far is to join games and use the chat to ask if anyone wants to test, this seems a little bit spammy however, it can't be the right way to do it. Once in a while someone bites. Not very often, because in multiday games most people are afk and in real time games you'll have to wait for the game to finish and then most people have other plans. The official chatroom usually only has one guy online. The forums seem like a much slower medium, maybe I'm overestimating the time it would take to arrange a game through here.

Am I missing out by not being in a clan? Do other maptesters use their own networks (like skype)? Should I skip the testing with actual humans and just show the map here in the forums so people can judge based on the preview?

most people post a thread on here that no one responds to. Ive found that asking in diplo games gets you more testers.

Ill testy.

I ask people of my clan for testing games (just invite them) and I make a thread for my map to collect additional testers. Furthermore, I play single player games to test the map myself.

If you want to test maps with other players, make sure it is a multi-day game.

Most time if you put a picture here on this topic of your map , there will be more people who want to respond and want to try it. So I want to know how your map looks before I say I want to help you testing ;)
