It was an important, legitimate post but with no response nobody cared so I deleted it.
No I was not booted. 2v2, someone else was booted and requested a surrender on our side to make things even.

Thank you stefano.
Incidently, we're playing German Huge 2v2. Originally I posted my appproach as to fight it out until you can't. I know it sucks for the other player, but I will not abandon my teammate nor will I speak on thier behalf. (to surrender)
Having been on both sides of the situation, I would stay and give it all I had until I can't. It may seem like an empty victory, but a win is a win. I have never asked anyone to surrender and I never will.
Play til you can't.

Imho, asking opponents to VTE seems reasonable. Opponents declining to VTE is also reasonable. Petty perhaps but reasonable.
Asking opponents to have 1 player surrender to even out the fight seems bizarre. Either cancel the game, play it out to the best of your ability, or surrender yourself to resign the game. The opponents signed up for a 2v2, not a 1v1, so asking for a surrender just seems out of place.
CONTEXT: (1) your teammate boots before T1. Once each team has made a move, it's game on, and whichever team goofs up and boots partway through must live with it. Play it out or surrender, choice is yours. (2) a game where VTE is possible; as stefano indicated, it's not always an option; in these cases, just surrender or accept your fate in playing out a handicap match.

I forgot to mention, the original post had a possible solution.
The Back-up Player.
When this scenario occurs, have a back-up player on stand by. But, you have the first three turns to make a decision. After turn 3, if you have not called for back up, you're on your own.
Assuming we did this ^, what is required to implement it?
