At first glance this looks like a promising map, but look a little closer and you'll see why the rating isn't so great. The use of light colors makes some of bonuses difficult to discern and the jagged edges give it an unnatural and uncomfortable feeling. Despite this, the map is well balanced and would make for a good team game or FFA.
Blortis:
Overall a good map. It plays well but I think it would improve the look of the map if it were recentered and the extra details shrunk down so that the map takes up as much of the screen as possible. I also don't like how wide the gaps are between super bonus areas. It makes some of the connections hard to predict.
Ranek:
The map itself does look perfectly executed. The outlined super bonusses are a nice feature to simplify the orientation. the bonus system variies here and there between two value systems (x-1 and x-2) for no obvious reasons, which is somehow odd, but shouldnt unballance the entire map. It is a nice idea to let the design follow the national flag, but turned out to be a weird and squeaky looking background design. The odd looking dragon in the top left corner, which belonged to be in the center, is as much an eye catcher as the map itself, which is somehow disturbing. The little image on the bottom and the unproportional small zone bonusses unfortunately rank in the same design aberrations.

I'm surprised I like this map but I do. This is a straight up 1v1 map and a fun one at that. Qi really out-did himself with this map and I'd like to see more tournaments using it. The games are decided quickly and each move needs to be micro-managed and because it's a small map, it's pretty easy to do just that. Top map for me this week.
Blortis:
Regardless of how anyone feels about the map maker he's made several excellent maps, this being one of my favorites. The old version had a few problems but they have all been resolved. This map is straight to the action 1v1 fun. It's one dimensional in the fact that it's only good for 1v1 but it does it's job well.

A very decent little map, with a simple but also nice looking design. It doesnt have special features, except the cave passage which could have been done with a sea connection as well. The map is a good opportunity to have some more variety among the competitive 1v1 maps.
A short break this week for Christmas, we will be back next week. You can still however vote for next weeks. Merry Christmas.
