A recap of interesting stuff of the first half of June 2023.

Update 5.24.1 is live

Ladder boot times were partially reverted and increased to 1.5 days. There was no official poll abortion, but probably there will be no poll about the timers. Looks like Fizzer will be more relying on stats.

The ladder rewards were improved:
- The undeniably good rewards-zone was extended from top-50 to top-100
- The minimal noticeable good idle rewards, extended from top-50 to top 250

Other changes are mostly bug fixes.

CW season 32 is over, S33 started

Season 32 was kinda boring:
- Top-5 unchanged. Gz to Myth Busters. No real competition from Optimum.
- In Top-9: Mothership II managed to get back to coin zone. Le Furie Azzurre fell off.

SerFen from MythBusters has achieved the Personal Perfect Clan Wars season (100% participation + 100% winrate) in CW Season 32. Congratulations!

While there were questions, about whether FleXUS had a perfect season earlier (there was 1 game, that was won, but technically got locked as “pending” because the season had ended), this SerFen’s run is undoubtedly 100% win rate.

Season 33 started and we see something interesting:
- knyte club assembled their new roster is now fighting for top-2 spot. As of now (7 days into the season), knyte club are ahead of Optimum with a few wins
- Both Harmony and M’Hunters have incentivized recruiting and M’Hunters actually may compete to get to top-5 by displacing Harmony

Another worrying trend, which I have noticed in the recent seasons, is that CW maps are getting bigger and seasons are getting longer. In seasons 23-25 we had CW map with ~240 territories, and since then they gradually get larger. In season 33 we got a map with over 300 territories.

Clan drama: Italia Caput Mundi is kaput. Viva Italia!

Short recap:

By May 2023 the clan owner of Italia Caput Mundi, player Fiorenzo Rimastone, had been offline for ~1.5 years. We also know, that he is actually an alt of player Scrooge McDuck from Masters clan, who was not very active in the last year either.

Mid-May 2023 Fiorenzo Rimastone becomes active and starts mass kicking players in waves:
- end of May – 15 players who were offline for long
- beginning of June – 18 players, who, presumably, didn’t play CW
- mid-June – all the remaining 27 players were kicked (including managers)

Total 60 players (including 45 active players) were kicked.

As of now:
- Italia Caput Mundi has only the clan owner in the clan and the clan bio stating “Due to low participation, the clan is officially dissolved”
- The community of the former ICM clan is reassembling under new clan “Italia”, however that new clan is capped, unlike ICM.

We also have a leak from a game chat that Scrooge McDuck (main account of Fiorenzo Rimastone) is “planning to grow up another clans he has in standby”. So that might be a way to restart a clan.

My opinion? Firstly, being offline for a year, then coming back and nuking a more or less successful clan is definitely not a friendly move towards your fellow clan mates. Secondly, I don’t understand what’s the point of kicking players from an uncapped clan, if you actually want to do something with it. Not only that immensely sets the clan development back, but this also is a bad reputation for the clan leader. I see no logic in these actions.

Clan League 16 winners – Masters clan

Masters clan has secured its 1st position in Div A of Clan League 16, so they are now officially the winners of the main community event for clan competition. Congratulations!

The legends of Warzone Idle Battles

WarTog compiled a list of players who each had managed to collect 102k points in WZ Idle Battles and get a legendary artifact from it. There are 6 players: WarTog, otto#5, Gunk, Ivan2, Cryptic, FTWW.

For those who don’t know WZIB, these are events held every 30 minutes for idle players. They award point for competing: from 10 to 50 (for getting 1st). Now you may estimate, that to get 102k points, you would need to take part in 2k+ battles (also this should be done within 1 Super Ascension). Basically that’s a massive long grind, and interesting, that while WarTog was the first one to achieve that, we now got plus 5 more players, who managed to fulfill that goal too.

Other events
- Multi-Template Ladder is down for a few days already (maybe even a week). We dont know exactly what happened. Definitely not the best news to MTL’s development. Hope it will get back soon.
- Manager’s Real-time League failed to launch due to organizational issues and might be dead by now. The idea was cool though.
- Texx from Harmony and Orcus from Optimum (main: Phobos#3) are starting BO11 match, with the loser will have to play a full CW season for the clan of the winner.

That’s all. If you think, that I missed something, please feel free to add events in the comments/replies to the thread. Also, please, follow/like/subscribe!

I have suggested to Fizzer to make a system to even out the difference or give new clans a chance to gain higher numbers like the old clans but still he seems to think unfair is ok.

Although he was positive a few months ago nothing happend so maybe if he ever gets the time :)

The clan cap should be at least the highest number of active clan members in a clan (or not exist at all). I’m unsure what the reason for having a cap in the first place is.

A recap of interesting stuff of the second half of June 2023 and first days of July 2023.

Update 5.25 released

Mainly a quality-of-life update:
- Quickmatch now has a new setting that players can configure called “New templates unlock by default”. This feature was asked for a lot.
- Unauthenticated Multi-Player Game Viewing
- 3d maps on by default for maps with <300 territories

Clan Wars season 33 has ended - Prime takes back 2nd place, Rise of alts

CW seasons 33 ended. No surprise, Myth Busters won it again with by a wide margin.

There was some intense competition for top-2. For the first half of the season, Optimum and knyte club were competing for 2nd place, while Prime had a slow start and was lagging behind. In the second half, Prime caught up and ended the season as top-2.

The remaining top 3-5 were same again. Even after a big recruitment push and objectively better statistics, M'Hunters were not able or did not want to compete with Harmony for the top-5 spot.

The top-9 had some unfortunate results. FTW! clan, which run by NONO and notoriously known for using alts to play Clan Wars, rivaled The Fancy Dot ● on the number of wins and took top-9 by the mod128 tie-breaker. Thus, The Fancy Dot ● is off the coin zone.

NONO was publicly caught up for using alts to rig coin-raffles before and now this. I have heard, that NONO was reported for using FTW! alts in CW, but looks like no action was taken. While I think, that it is not a big issue, when alts are used below the coin zone, but when you get you way to the top-9 with alts, that's a big hit to Clan Wars competition spirit and game integrity.

Big summer clan reshuffle

After the CW season 33, knyte club completely transferred to {101st}. At the same time, a few of Python's and Harmony's players and managers joined {101st} too.

What do we know:

- Before The Blue Devils took over knyte club, it was rumored that they were offered one of alexclusive's clan. They decided to choose knyte club from l4v.rov, as l4v.rov (unlike alexclusive) did not impose any rules or obligations on them. Something probably has changed since then.
- Recently {101st} had an underwhelming performance in the Clan League (they relegated from Div A to Div B), and knyte club since the reincarnation have not succeeded to take top-2 in the CW.
- It is said, that Python would be offering some training to the new {101st} team, as well as play Clan Wars with them, etc
- Currently, as we approach the end of first day of the new Clan Wars season, we see that {101st} winrate is ~40% and CWR dropping in the 500-400 range.

To be honest, I am still not sure is it just knyte club team's plan to continue growth by leveraging Python/{101st}'s resources (trainers, player base, spot in Div B of Clan league), or a plain merger of knyte clyb within the Python/{101st} structure. According to the {101st}'s page bio, it seems that {101st} inherits its identinity from the previous {101st}'s history + the new clan uses the Python/{101st} discord as a means of main communication. So I would actually call that a merger under Python.

It is spotted, that at least one manager (actually the leader of their CW squad) from Harmony has joined {101st}. Harmony has a vast track record of their top players actually leaving Harmony to play for Myth Busters to compete for top-1 spot, but if now they leave to just compete for top-2, that is a bit questionable. Another opinion, is that the manager from Harmony wanted a break from leading the Harmony's CW effort, but then what happens to the Harmony's effort itself.

The knyte club clan was later taken by Romy. Probably we will see Mothership II moving to it in the near time.

Announcement of Nation’s Cup 2023

Nation's Cup is a team tournament, where players from same countries build up teams and compete.

Last Nation's cup was held in 2021. With almost ~300 participants this is even bigger than Clan Wars or Clan League.

Not a big expert myself, I see lots of people are enthusiastic and already expressed interest.

Other events in-brief

- Orcus vs Texx showdown is tied at 3:3. With all the real-time games finished, we are now entering the multiday games.
- The Multi-Template Ladder has been down for over 3 weeks. Very little communication is available and that's not a good sign.

That’s all for now. Thanks for reading. Please comment, like and subscribe!

I was referring to the sometimes stated in Div A discord conflict of interest between Python and {101st} and the Princess Platinum incident in the game of {101st} vs Python: (https://www.warzone.com/Forum/642190-clan-league-16-signup-announcements?Offset=291). Well if the plaintiff himself says, that it was a joke, then my bad.

I have corrected the newsletter.

Seems to me the section about the kc/101st merger is written in a way that implies there has to be a winner and a loser in the process. While I believe we all found it mutually beneficial, or we would not have done it. actually triplually beneficial, since Mothership II gets the benefit of an uncapped clan.

Didn't explicitly want it to be a win/lose thing, when I was writing. I guess it might seem to be read this way, because of how the known facts aligned.

I would be really thankful, if someone, who knows the details, would add some factual info to the story (besides, the fact that "5s was biased/incomplete" :D), describe what is happening and address some of the questions, which might have initially led to the "win/lose" vibes. The questions like: Why did TBD change their decision to take KC, and went to {101st} (when that option seemed to exist before the move to KC? Who was the initiator/driver of the negotiations and the move? What is the backstory on the Python/101st side? What internal improvements/changes to 101st clan's activity introduced with the move.

So far I have read multiple comments, that I described the story incorrectly (or not full), but no one has augmented it with facts/details. If there are no more facts to add, then, let this be an example of "highly opinionated media about all the current events in Warzone" :D

To clarify, Harmony leaders are not playing for 101st, that is an error. I wanted to play this season with some different friends, so I joined 101st for a season with the blessing of my Clanmates. Nobody else from Harmony has done this.

Error number two is that Harmony does not have a “vast track record of top players leaving to play for Mythbusters” It’s just two players in the past, Kallisti and MrPotato. Also, as of this season, hihi too. Who originally played for MB, but we are proud he now calls Harmony home.

You say our players leave to help MB compete for 1st place, but again, this is an error. Taters is not in MB because he wants to win, he’s in MB because he wants to play with the friends he’s made there. So every season we send him off with a feast, a kiss, a huge parade, and always cheer for him whenever he plays a light fog game, dreading that we might get paired up with him only to get shamefully crushed.

Harmony leadership isn’t supporting 101st. I act alone. Harmony members are not disloyal. They are free. Harmony is a fun clan and the Management Team and all of our clanmates have, and will continue to put in effort to make it so.

5S, it is no secret that we don’t see eye-to-eye, but it’s also no secret that I love all the stuff you create. You improve the Warzone experience and I respect you for that. Please don’t use this awesome newsletter to create propaganda against Harmony just because you and I dislike each other.

PS. I don't dislike you (don't dislike Harmony either). Unfortunately, you keep assuming that I do. I guess, that helps you to justify your actions.
